In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

You didn't have a dream - you had a nightmare!
Your Christian upbringing that you mention should have instructed you in the last book of the new testament. Revelation. Do you see anything in there about Jesus working together with Satan? I see just the opposite, basically Jesus destroying Satan, here is a quote, but please look it up for yourself to confirm it -
Revelation 19:20-21 "But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with him the false prphet, who had performed signs on his authority, by which he deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. Both of them were thrown alive in to the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds will filled with their flesh."
How can you even fanthom addressing Satan as Lord?
Let me give you some serious scripture about how Satan and Jesus do not cooperate.. it is about a "house divided"
These verses both state the same thing - Jesus would NEVER cooperate with Satan.
Matthew: 12:22-32
Luke: 11:14-25
You might not rest so much belief on a dream... seek the wisdom of your church elders, or pastor.

If satan & Jesus was working together, why then did Satan tempted Jesus, & why did satan say to Jesus if thou be the Son of God then you can do so & so. As far as your dream or vision, satan can give you a vision & a dream, Did not Satan take Jesus into a vision on the mountan & tell him that if Jesus would worship satan that satan will give him every kigdom on this earth. Jesus rebuke satan. So NO satan & Jesus are NOT working together but against each other, satan knows that he has but a short time, & Jesus will rule one day on this earth. Now a dream or vision from God will have to be in line with the word of God, It will never be contrary or against God's word. There is Only ONE Lord. Ephesians 4:5 also read Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. So if any dream or vision is trying to put Jesus & satan together as one working together it is not from God, but from satan to deceive you. So the dream or vision you had was from satan.

The idea that Satan and Jesus Christ have a direct association is a Mormon belief (they think the two are brothers, which is completely unscriptural).
The test to ascertain whether or not a dream is from God is this: does it COMPLETELY conform with Scripture? If not, the dream is either of your own origin, or perhaps given to you by a demon. Don't scoff at this last suggestion -- just as demonic activity shot through the roof at the time of Jesus' birth, it is happening today. The Antichrist is alive today and Satan knows he will soon have a chance to try and defeat God (as if THAT could happen!). Satan is despirate to steal humankind's ability to be saved and he will stop at nothing -- including sending unscriptural dreams, visions and thoughts to vulnerable people.
Since your dream does not conform to Scripture, I suggest you examine your life, from top to bottom. Are you a saved, Born Again Christian? If not, now is the time to "choose this day whom you will serve," as Joshua said. If you are Born Again, rid your life of ALL demonic influences now: movies, books, thoughts, certain people, etc. Pray to God daily and read your Bible; demand the demonic spirit leave you. Remember what God tells us: "resist the devil and he will flee from you."
Peace and love in Jesus.

First off, there is no way our Lord and Satan will ever work together. That's impossible. I don't think y ou are psycho at all. You had a really powerful dream and sometimes we just interpret our dreams in many different ways. I would suggest to pray to our Father and also rebuke Satan from entering any more of your dreams.

I think you need to pray and talk to Jesus about this one. It's very disturbing. Maybe your subconscious wants peace and harmony amongst all, as I'm sure many of us want. However, praying to satan is a very scary thing, even in a dream. We are not directly 'responsible' for our dreams, but there has to be some underlying reason for this type of dream. You seriously need to seek some sort of counseling. I don't mean psychological. I mean through a pastor, minister or whoever is head of your church. Satan seems to be working through your subconscious mind. The Lord, the ALPHA and OMEGA, is where you need to turn for help with this one.
Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers.

Jesus and Satan will always work against each other.
What you were dreaming may indicate to you that Satan has an influence in the churches that they should not have, and that people have lost sight of who Jesus really is, and can be deceived by Satan. When this happens, their hearts go astray, and pray to a "false Jesus," which would really be Satan.
I think you should pray for your church and the body of chirst in general. It is true that there are false teachers and prophets in the church to deceive the elect, and the church has to open its eyes and see this deception.

The idea of Satan as commonly understood through the Christian perspective is incorrect. The true 'satan' or Lucifer was a 'bringer of light', which means wisdom and understanding. Jesus too sought to bring wisdom and understanding. So, in this line of thinking, yes, both could be seen as seeking the same thing: The Wisdom and Understanding of Humanity.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28
"And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind. Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." - John 9:2-3
Now, I am by no means Daniel... but whatever Satan does that's evil, Christ causes it to work for good for those of us who trust Him.
...consider the Crucifixion. Satan enticed the Pharisees and Judas to commit the deeds they did (for the purpose to cause evil), yet, all the while, God knew it would come about this way, to save mankind. In a very roundabout way, they worked together for good.
I suppose it can be explained like this: Satan is not omniscient. But God allows Satan to know bits and pieces, but not the whole story.
Had Satan had all the knowledge of what was going to happen, he would have never enticed Judas to betray Him, and the Pharisees to bring Him to death (almost like Peter, saying, "Lord, don't let it be" when being told about His upcoming crucifixion, only to have Jesus' response be "Get behind me, Satan, for you are an offense to me, and don't have the things of God in mind, but rather the things of man").
I suppose maybe your dream was meant to show you this... somehow, within your own life. That if something terrible should happen, it will all come together for the good of the family.
