My Neurologist wants me to see a Neurosurgeon for possible surgery. Has anyone ever had a herniated disc in their neck and it was pressing on the spinal cord? I have Multiple Sclerosis and he thinks this disc may account for some symptoms. If you had surgery .....are you sorry?

Wendy, get a second opinion and maybe even a third! People have a bad transmission in their car they go to 5 different places, but for some reason, if the Doctor says something, they take it like it came from God......................

Any surgery is risky, especially surgery involving the spinal column, or spinal cord. I would get a 2nd opinion, and think about this a long time before making a decision. Remember, you are the one who is getting cut on. If things don't go right, the doctors still get paid for services rendered, and you may be in worse condition than pre-surgery.
