For women, how did your honey help you during labor at the hospital, or didn't he help you at all? Guys, what was it like for you while she was in labor, were you scared/sick at all, how did you contribute to helping her along? My husband grabbed my bags and drove me to the hospital, but of course he had to stop at 7-11 for his coffee, LOL. He rubbed my back during labor, and was helpful, but he watched that damn monitor thing (you know, with the paper the comes out) telling me, get ready another contraction is just starting, it got to be annoying really. Other than that he was great except for later in labor when I started vomiting is when he went outside to have a cigarette and I didn't see him again til I was getting wheeled into the delivering room. Thanks for your answers!

My hubby was AWESOME...I was in labor for 30 hours (back labor!) and he was so tired but he rubbed my back when I asked him to, and brought me lots of ice. He shut up when I told him to shut up, and he talked when I told him I needed him to say something.

The funny thing is, when I first got to the hospital they starting giving me an IV and my hubby almost fainting! I thought "he's gonna be NO HELP", but he got over it and I was proven wrong.

Husbands are so funny.
My husband was scared to death. But he is a funny man. So when I was in pain and he and the doctor are joking around about how I should watch the baby be born with the stupid mirror. Are you freakin kidding me. I was in so much pain and these men are laughing and jokin around. Heck no I didn't want to see anything down there.
Now I do think it was funny. My husband is by far a great person when I am in pain. He takes such good care of me. While I was pregant after I had my children. Anything I wanted he would get me in an instance.
Now however. Geez I am thinkful to get a glass of water from him. Just jokin. It was nice being pampered though.
Awesome question. It brought me back to those good old day.

The first time i was a lamaze couch was for one of my friends i did everything i was told to do in training while she was in labor..but i had to take it a step further cause i was told to destract her with a picture or by talkin her through each contraction..well that stuff only helped her for so long so being the person i am i tried entertaining her by doing stupid things to get her mind off of the pain she was in by breathing like she was sappose to be breathing bringin myself to hyper venalate..lol. So after all else failed i desided i was going to put her on the radio if anything that would get her mind off the pain..lmao and it did the DJ was asking her questions while being on the air i think in her embarrassment she forgot about most of the pain she was in up until she had to deliver wich happened with in min after geting off the phone..she wasnt to happy with me then but she laughed after it was all done and over with and still to this day we laugh about it.

My son's father didn't help at all, hell he didn't even show up. I didn't find out till almost a week later that while I was in the hospital with our child, he had lost his mind and murdered a coworker on my last night there. He made it out of the country before her body was even discovered. Stupid bastard.

My husband isnt much for talking or anything. He just sat there holding my hand, bringing me ice chips, and rubbing my back. He is the silent but supportive type.

My husband was there for the birth of all my children, he didn't say much or do much but the fact that he was there holding my hand was more than enough for me.

He kept telling me how good I was doing and held my hand the whole time. He was pretty good. I think he'll do better when the second one comes along.
