They need to wake up before they get any more powers. I have been a victim of crime twice within 2 weeks, the first time they must have raced to the computer to type the letter saying there's no leads to the investigation so they were closing the file (only had my car set on fire. Second time was yesterday (in my office) had my mobile stolen, they told me on the phone that there's no further investigation, we have CCTV too.

No way should the police have more powers. They have clearly demonstrated that they are unable to handle the power they have, by arresting and shooting the wrong people.
What is needed is that the police get some proper training, along proper police lines. They should be extremely aware that their job is to help the public, as opposed to scoring points on their little quota charts.
The chances of meeting a helpful policeman today are about zero. If you ask a policeman for help , he is more likely to arrest you for wasting police time.
So, lets start by making sure that they get no more power, then, when we have all got that completely clear once and for all, we can commence to reduce their power in areas where they abuse power.
They are not a law unto themselves, and they are supposed to be helpful. We are a far cry from having a helpful police force,....don't you agree?
Now, we can move on to the more important point of the fact that the agenda of the overriding government is to reduce the freedom of the public until such time that we are all living in a police state. By limiting police power now, we are able to make a start on the prevention of our slavery. If we increase police power, then we are inviting slavery.
Britons never never never will be slaves!!!!! Get the police of our backs NOW

As a law abiding citizen who has never run afoul of the law and never even had a traffic ticket for twenty years, I think that they do not have enough power. However, I must add that I was a Military Policeman and living in a police state feels normal and right to me. It made me feel secure in knowing exactly where the line was and if I crossed it then I was going to be in trouble. Now the line is so blurred that even cops do not know what is allowed. I like the well defined world. I know that most in our country want a world that centers around them, but if you want to make order out of chaos, then there has to be firm rules.

i do no longer the way it rather is in Liverpool, yet many officials right here interior the USA (in maximum significant cities like ny and Chicago) Police are decrease than intense scrutiny, and officials do no longer consistently injury out with each little thing because of fact electorate can record lawsuits and on the very worst for an officer have their face on a television set with unfavorable exposure to the city. Granted, there are some law enforcement officials accessible who do bend the regulation to extra useful in effective condition them and others enable the badge get to their head. yet those are few and plenty between, maximum officials (a minimum of right here in united statesa.) are stable human beings yet there are individuals that would enable themselves recover from excited. you're marvelous, being a cop is a perplexing activity it rather is why I grew to become a criminal expert. It takes a perplexing and committed individual to positioned on a badge and a gun and go into the streets conventional with the opportunity of being killed or heavily injured. no longer purely that, yet while an officer is called to testify, in addition they're going to ought to positioned up with questioning from a protection criminal expert that would cause them to experience uncomfortable with hazard of watching the guy or gal they arrested walk unfastened because of a clerical mistake the officer made. undesirable officials would injury out with some issues, yet individuals that don't can see their careers go up in smoke.

More power to stop and detain people deemed a threat to society as a whole.Power to not be politically correct but to enact the laws they are hired to enforce regardless of who that offends. If I fit the profile of a terrorist then stop me ,question me,find out who I am and what I'm up to.
I do feel that all police officers need to have physiological
test given every 6 months to see the effects of their jobs and to weed out people with racist or mental problems. The job is dehumanizing and it desensitizes the men and women that preform it.So frequent testing should be mandatory,to ensure no "bad"apples are in the force.

I would have to say lieing to citizen's why should I go to jail for lieing to the cops, when they lie to me and nothing happens to them. I have also seen cops ruff handle people (not hitting) because they said something the cop didnt like, but cops are known to be smartasses on a regualar basis and you cant slam him on a car or yank him around. I also dont think it should be assulting a officer for hitting a or killing a police dog when that dog has the ability to kill you and really dosnt care or know if its about to, basically your life rest in the cops hand and if he dosnt tell the dog to stop you could die and TECHINALLY the cop didnt kill you the dog did. Nobodys gonna lock the dog up for life though. I cant really think of anything i would free up because the stuff that is restricted most cops take upon themselves to do anyway because most people dont know the cops breaking the law or dont feel like takeing the time to find out

I would give them the power to take the little teenage scrotes that terrorise neighbourhoods down dark alleys and give them a good kicking like their bloody parents should have done... and after they've done with them, then they should kick seven bells out of their chav parents.
I might even join up if that were possible!
Zulu9.... me in a uniform... hmmm... maybe it might be fun!

I believe it would be nice to take away the power of officers that harrass innocent people and waste much needed time due to wrongful judgement.

I would make them arrest people for serious crimes rather than just taking a pee in the street or walking home from the pub! I would tell them to get the immigrants OUT and if they cannot do that arrest the Muppet's that break the law then send them back to where they came from!
I think that the British law system needs a good re-vamp and our government is useless.
