I've heard about the greenhouse effect and the damage its causing to the earths climate. These greenhouse owners ought to have more respect for our world. Should I teach them a lesson and smash them all in?

It only makes things worst. Once you smash all the greenhouses then all the greenhouse gases escape into the atmosphere causing global warming. Its the greenhouse gases that are the real problem, not just the greenhouses themselves. Things are warm enough already, and when you release the greenhouse gases it causes a warming of the seas which results in massive hurricanes, and the sea level rise, wiping out New Orleans. You wouldn't want that on your conscience.

NOOOOOOO. DON'T DO THAT.

The greenhouse effect (global warming) is unrelated to the greenhouses that you find in your neighborhood. The greenhouse effect is similar to greenhouses, except that it occurs on a larger scale and is independent of the greenhouses in your neighborhood.
The greenhouse effect is caused by people when they drive their cars and factories that pollute. Each day, we are putting a lot of pollutants up into the air, which punctures the ozone layer. Consequently, harmful UVC rays are entering through these pores and hit the earth, bouncing back but, unable to exit the ozone layer, returns to earth and continue to bounce back and forth between the ozone layer and the earth.
This excess of ultraviolet radiation (UVC) has caused the earht to gradually warm, leading to the melting of polar ice caps, which raises the sea level of the water by a couple inches. Eventually, however, the sea level will rise to a trememendous height and create massive problems.

As for now, there is no solution to solving global warming/greenhouse effect and you need not destroy your neighbor's greenhouses. The only solution is in prevention and you can urge your senators, representatives, or politcians to propose legislation that reduces factory pollution, promotes hybrid vehicles, and other green measures that will limit the pollutants we put into the air.

I don't really have the time or concern to really go in to all of this but if we didn't have greenhouse gasses and the greenhouse effect, which are one in the same by the way, the earth would not be warm enough to support life, anyways maybe you should actually do some research into something that has absolutely nothing to do with the greenhouses you are talking about, no, don't go smashing them in, it wouldn't change anything anyways and you'd most likely get caught and arrested

I don't believe all these 'scientific explanations' for the greenhouse effect.

I mean, if it isn't caused by those glass & steel structures in gardens, why even suggest that it is? It's downright defamatory, and I think the guy who coined the term is just lucky that greenhouses can't get legal advice.

So I say, go for it, except if they're growing iceberg lettuces.

:)
definitly if the greenhouses are heated - and may are, especially the comercial ones.

and masses of poly-tunnels are a definite eye-sore and pollution hazard from bits of plastic blowing across the countryside. The odd one or two in a back garden is fine.

and the comercial growing with illegal/badly paid workers to feed a global cheap food market is not at all nice

Greenhouse effect is talking about the globe as a whole, not greenhouse at the surface area. So your neighbour's greenhouse will not worsen the global problem at all ~

NOoo... I suggest you go get another drink and let someone else solve the greenhouse problem.

You don't need to break people's stuff. Just paint these green houses a different color and the damages will be nuetralized. Ask first, but if they won't let you do it while they are sleeping or on vacation.

No--You need to be doing something useful

Spend the next six months picking up trash in your neighborhood.
