It is better than just water, but not by a whole lot.
There's just not an awful lot of nutrition in celery, and if you are one of those that throws away the heart there's not a lot of flavor either.
The old "bread and water" punishment would be better by far (unless it is common American white bread, a study a while back had lab rats dying of malnutrition from that). But if you are preferring that to fasting for a radical diet, the fiber in your celery will keep the GI tract plumbing working, which is good. How about really small portions of flavorful food? You could lose weight and not feel quite so starvationally deprived.

No! Celery doesn't have a lot of the nutrients you need. Like carbohydrates. Celery is mostly water, anyway, so you wouldn't be getting much nutrition from eating only that... you'd risk malnutrition and some other serious health issues.
Don't do it.

i think maybe its possible but i wouldn't advise it. celery is like 80% water so its like living on just water which is not a good idea its also not a balenced diet. i once tried a diet where i only ate fruit and raw vegetables (celery, cucumber, carrot sticks etc) and only drank water. it went ok for about 5 days and thenfor the next three days after that i was really sick and ill so i really don't advise trying it!xxx

Of course not. The human body requires specific nutrients that celery and water can't provide.

No, but if you really want to lose some weight in a short period of time, try eating 1 apple a day and drinking only carbonized water. It helped me fit into my old tight sexy dress.
But, I do not recommend doing it longer than 7-10 days, because your body needs a whole lot more vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins than that. I've had weight issues for as long as I can remember, but must say: it's more important losing weight healthy than rapidly.
Try eating twice as smaller meals as you have so far. But do take care and good luck!

I answer this question with a resounding "no" and with scepticism that this question is even serious.
The human body needs many vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and, yes, even fats, that are not included in only celery and water.
Please seek help immediately.

If I'm allowed to put vegemite or tomato sauce on the celery I'll give it a try.

If you want to lose weight try exercising with 1000 calories a day. Let ALL sweets, pastries, chips, nuts, and high calorie foods alone. Watch your fat intake and no Pepsi or other soda beverages. You will start shedding pounds sensibly.
