The common symptoms of depression include a depressed mood for most of the day nearly everyday, irritability, sleeplessness/restlessness or aggitation, weight changes of 5% or more in one month (loss or gain), impaired concentration, loss of interest in formerly enjoyed activities, insomnia or hypersomnia, feelings of worthlessness, recurrent thoughts of death (of simply dying or of suicide), and psychomotor agitation or retardation (either excessive movement, or diminished movement). Hope this helps.
