Why do the post men/ women come in the afternoon now? I was always under the impression that they did the same shifts as the milkman.

they don't have the special gift like a St. Nick where they can magically get every ones mail delivered before noon.

There r diffferent timings as to where u live in the world, but it would help if u keep a mailbax, so u dont have to be bothered as & when they come, In india for ex there is a bag hung on the door for the milkman to place the bag in the morning whenever he comes

The post office has dropped the second delivery now. There is so much heavy junk-mail that it has to be broken down into several delivery sacks, and delivered all at once rather than wait for 2nd class post to get to the sorting office later in the day. That way, the post is always cleared.

Post men and women deliver depending on how people are on their route. We live in the country and do not get our mail until late afternoon.

mail gets sorted in the morning and delivered in the afternoon. I think it is because the volume of mail has increased and the amount of postal workers has decreased.

I know it is a disgrace. I mean if their going to increase the charge for us sending post they shud at least deliver it before dinner!!

maybe it because they were delivering elsewhere in the morning. My postlady used to come in the morning too but now she arrives jus after lunch!

It's because they only do one delivery a day so I expect that they have more letters to deliver in any one round. It could also be, if yours are anything like mine, that they are lazy gits.

They can't deliver ALL the mail in the morning.
