I know you prefer not to spend alot but you want long beautiful hair right? I suggest Nioxian shampoo and conditioner. My hair was bleached and damaged and breaking because of the sun and the pool. It was comming off in clumps it was so bad. The only thing that saved my hair was the nioxian. Nioxian has the most protein of any shamoo and will strengthen your hair so that it grows. It's pricey . Yes, but professional shampoos and conditioners are also highly concetraited and you will use much less. You can find sales on it and also if you buy the big bulk bottles they last a long time and are usually a better deal. I now have a beautiful head of long hair.
Also it would be great for your back. One of the benefits of nioxin is that it unclogs pores and cleans hair folicles. It also has a pleasent tingling sensation.

If you may be so bold, since you are letting your hair grow out anyway, why not cut the bad hair off so nothing but your natural hair is left. I don't think there is any way of fixing fried hair. You could get a leave in conditioner, and wash with a mild shampoo. Use the conditioner for a while until your natural hair grows a little, and then cut off the dead stuff. Good Luck.

It sounds like you have been using the same shampoo for a while. After awhile, any kind of shampoo will start to leave a residual in your clean hair. All you need to do is buy another brand of shampoo to get that residual out. Any brand and any price shampoo will do.
You should have two different kinds of shampoo. When ever your hair starts to get dull and flat, and greasy, it is time to change again. I would change back and forth once a month. You will notice a great change.

Try Sunsilk- the pink kind, or try the New Herbal Essences- Hello Hydration- the blue kind.

first you need to get rid of the damaged portion so you need to have your hair cut... i use head and shoulder as shampoo to keep my scalp clean and follow it up with mane 'n tail conditioner. vidal sasson hair brush works wonders but is not advisable for you as you have oily scalp... so i think you need to get a turtle comb. good luck!

I'd opt for a great cut. Since you're growing out your hair why don't you start fresh? So many cute styles out there and your stylist will find the one that fits you best.....try........
