If you're a strong believer, you'll understand that you won't die until God decides it your time.
I think the problem isn't what you're praying for but the fact you are asking for it. You have a void in your life you can't seem to fill. Some days nothing you do seems quite right. But that's OK... many of us go through months (or more) of this sort of meloncholy.
You need to decide to change your outlook. How you do that is up to you. Maybe you need to confide in someone and work through these feelings. Maybe seeing a professional counselor will help; they can teach you new ways of seeign the world and how to break your own pessimistic mental habits. If you're religious, why not give yourself to one of the church's programs. Perhaps through volunteer work helping others you'll feel happiness when you see all the people you can help.
Best wishes to you!

Well, yes and no. When people pray that the Lord comes soon, are they not praying that they will die? I am sure that praying that you will die is something most Christians go through.
The idea that God has a quota of lives he has to take is a little twisted though, because it isn't true.
Here is some advice, go to church, get involved with homeless shelters / hospitals that are looking for volunteers. Adopt a kid through compassion international. You can judge a tree by the fruit that it produces... Go produce some fruit. You might be able to really help someone else.
And the last thing to think about, is that you are special. God created you and put you here "for just such a time as this".

It doesn't usually work that way.
God put you on earth for an important reason.
If you're not sure what it is, pray about it. Then, make sure to watch and listen.
Also, step out in faith and volunteer for something ... anything. Your local church, soup kitchen, homeless shelter, or similar group can certainly make good use of your talents.
God has a way of taking the lead, once you make the first step.
He's already promised to supply everything you need, so don't worry about any details. Just do it.
You may also be suffering from depression. Perhaps a checkup might be a good idea.
God bless you.

Wow, I'm sorry that you are going through a tough time within yourself. What I think that you should do is ask him to help you instead of taking away your life. I think that you need to do some serious soul searching and find out what you want to do with your life and find out what would make you happy. It seems that you are suffering from depression and it should be looked at. You have to think outside the box and realize that your family and your friends love you with all their hearts. If you don't feel useful then change the way you feel by changing your life around so that you will feel accomplished. You are in control on how your life turns out. It's time to stand up, put your chest out and chin up and find yourself again. I wish you the best.

I have asked myself the same question. I may be useful to my family and freinds but sometimes I feel as if I am being used. I feel that I am not living up to a potential but do not have the time or the means to pursue the dream. What are the answers? If you are willing to pray then pray that he help you with your feelings. find a hobby that you love ( mine is sewing) do the hobby wheter you are good at it or not remember the song "Sing a song don't worry if its not good enough for any one else to hear?" find peace inside. That is all I can say. I feel like a hypocrite telling you this because I have the same issuse.

He will not answer that prayer the way you want? You do not feel useful to friends, family... get up and try to do something about it. Saying it is one thing, doing it is another. How about volunteering to a shelter. Love, life cannot be that bad. The fact that you want God to take you out (I think you are fearful to do it yourself, AND NOT THAT I WANT YOU TO DO IT) simply mean that you are just having a pity party. We all have pity parties from one time to the next. Not to sound mean, because I am really don't want be mean but .... common there are others that have it 10 times worst and are still coping. With life there is hope. Ask God to show you you purpose.

I think what would be better to do is pray that God help you find your purpose in life. Without purpose, everything seems pointless. Each morning, say, "Thank you for all you've given me, now guide me." There is too much in life that is good to give it all up.
I don't know what you're going through that is making you feel so hopeless. I assure you, however, that there are few people who have not felt as you do at some point in their lives...even if it was only for a few seconds. Life IS what you make of it. Please find your course, and you'll find happiness. Look outside yourself and make yourself helpful to others. It works wonders.

Maybe try praying for peace instead of death. If you aren't feeling important and useful to your family and friends then you probably are not feeling useful in your own life. Take a step back and look at your life, see where you can improve and pray for guidance and strength to do what you need to do to be fulfilled. Good luck to you.

I think it is not so much a sin to pray for that to happen so much as a wasted prayer. GOD knows how much you can take and sees what you are going through. HE knows your circumstances and would want to help you rather than harm you. What purpose would you serve to anyone dead? If you don't feel useful then you probably need to be what you can do to be of use. Even the smallest child nestled at their mother's breast is special and worthy of life in HIS eyes. If HE has allowed you to still be here then HE obviously has a purpose for you. You would be best served to try and figure out what your purpose is. Mine is comic relief for my family I think.....
