I had "paint" programme on pc (windows xp) & its disappeared, done search etc, nowhere. System Restore doesnt go back far enough as pc had a clear up & got rid of old restore points. I am not asking for recommendations on a new programme, i already use several & I really need this prog back. Any ideas how to get it? Looked on download.com & mininova.org but still no joy

Run a search on your C drive for mspaint.exe and providing it exists then create a shortcut to it. Failing that, go to ADD/REMOVE programs in CONTROL PANEL and you can uninstall and reinstall it again

Hey don't worry

Just go to Add or Remove Program

click at Add/Remove Window Components
Uncheck " accessories and Utilities" option
click Next button click Finish button

Then again open the Add/remove Window components

check ""accessories and Utilities" option back

click next and finish button

Note: if it ask for some WInXP file just put ur windowsXp cd in ur CD drive and open i386 folder and then click next

First click start then run and type in mspaint and hit enter. if the program pops up, its still on your PC. You can create a desktop shortcut manually by right clicking on the desktop and picking the correct add shortcut item.

If its not, you need your orginal windows CD, and go to add/remove programs and click on windows components and you can add it from the list.

I know it hasn't been removed it yet go to windows' system32 Folder and search (F3) For MSPAINT and open it and you can pin it to start menu too....

easy way to run it> start > run > Type "Mspaint" ( without quotes) and Enter

if you lost paint then also you can get it back, go to control pannel's add/remove program > Set windows programs default or something like that.

Paint is a Microsoft program and part of the operating system; so you should only be looking at the Microsoft website.
If you have the disc you could try a repair installation, or you could go to
http://www.microsoft.com
and look for Paint and Paint.net, which is the upgrade.

ok.. try this, go to start > control panel> add or remove programs, on the left, click on "add/remove windows components, click on "accessories and utilities", then click details, then click on "accessories", then click details again, scroll down to "paint", if it's un-checked, check it and click "ok", and then you'll have paint again.

good luck.

Just activate the “Run” dialog box and type “pbrush” and press enter. That’s how I run most of the programs ;)
