Its just like a computer, they are obsolete the minute you walk out of the store with them. Good luck, maybe just buy one that has what you need and don't worry about whats coming next.

There is always going to be something "newer and better," than what we have chosen to spend our hard earned money on. You can only choose what is the best for you, in the moment and then just stick by that decision. I have only owned the computer I am typing this on for four months; and I have already been told that it is outmoded. Well, it is perfectly fine for what I need it for, and I will not be replacing it for years. I try not to buy into, literally and figuratively; the everlasting sales line. I have owned vehicles until they have had over 200,000 miles on them and do not have to have the biggest, newest or flashiest. It is the younger generations that have fed into all this crap. It is also these same people who live so far beyond their means that they are buying food and other everyday expenses on credit. When nearly 70% of couples in their thirties and forties are living beyond their means; it needs to stop. I was brought up to only purchase what I could afford, and I am glad of it. I have a friend whose younger brother just was approved for a three hundred thousand dollar first time buyers loan for a house, and he only has an income of $27,000 per year. Must be a new math that I cannot understand. Purchase what you can afford and what you will enjoy and then walk away. Enjoy your camcorder. Just think of it as the adult version of pin the tail on the donkey...close your eyes and choose and you'll probably do just as well as agonizing over the decision. Have a good day!

There'll always be a newer and better until it becomes a "dead" technology, (vhs,8-track). Buy yourself a decent digital video camera. Canon offers very nice ones that offer good rebates and have the lowest down-time and repair rates on the market.

Just buy any. It's not a big deal.
