Actually, He created you with a free will...you can serve Him, or you can totally reject Him. How is that forcing you to do anything?

Even if God was a bully (which I don't believe that to be true), who are we to demand different? When I was a kid I may not have always agreed with, or liked, my parent's rules...but things sure went a lot smoother when I followed them. In hindsight, most of their rules made a lot more sense than I gave them credit for at the time...

"Chokolate Chip" doesn't know what she's talking about. Is the mugger who holds the knife to your neck and says "Your money or your life!" allowing his victim free will? Would he be able to plead in court, "He freely chose not to give me his wallet; what else COULD I do?"

For it to be a TRULY free choice, there need to be no intimidation or threats of punishment. The biblegod would simply present two afterlives to choose from -- one where he is with you, and one where he is absent. Otherwise it's coercion and duress -- the proverbian "gun to the head" as the OP said.

Luckily, the biblegod is imaginary anyway, so it really is a moot point....

God is a terrible bully. Just read the accounts of his actions. In the Bible alone he personally killed over 2 million people.

You tell em bud, God rules by fear, worship me or I will punish you. Sounds more like a bully than a loving god to me.

Bullies will usually present him as a reflection of themselves..see all the Christian and other fundamentalists, God is a fiction used to control people usually by bullies...they like to throw God's weight about when they don't feel they are impressive enough themselves.

Karl Marx said religion is the opium of the people, and it is true. People are controlled by religious leaders and religion. They are told they are all sinners, that they have to suffer to get to heaven and they have to bear being oppressed.

It is a commandment made.... but you have the "free will" weather to obey or not.
