Reply to nawab100: I have read the translated version of the Qu'ran on the internet...it is not such a big book..I don't claim great knowledge of it but I have at least read it, I wasn't very impressed.

Reply to baby u84:
this is the bit that causes the problem
6) Islam is a complete way of life that governs all facets of life: moral, spiritual, social, political, economical, intellectual, etc.
How can this be compatable within the laws of a democracy...there is an immediate conflict that cannot be resolved.

I do not agree with everything in that article, but most of the events are true. I hope Muslims can reform Islam to purify it from violent teachings. Most Muslims are really peacful nice people and they are not aware of those horrible teachings, but radicalists (and of course terrorists) are using those teachings very widely to achieve their own political agenda.

I'm not really sure if this question was asked seriously or as a joke but I'll take a gamble on you. Islam is actually a religion and it is the conclusion of the word of God as taught to mankind starting with Abraham and on through Moses and Jesus Christ and over one hundred thousand other prophets. If you study all three religions which, sadly people do not bother to do and rather rely on debatable news sources, you will see that the basic principle taught by all three religions is the same, the oneness of God. If I may make a suggestion, why not try reading the Holy Quran? One reads so many different books, why not read one that actually matters? It is easily available in English translation on the Internet. Good luck.

It is not. There are those who have made it so--but, to the majority of people it is a religion. It makes alot more sense than Christianity does. Granted, it is a universal religion, as is Christianity, and both do teach their viewpoints to obtain converts. Study the religion and you will find it has much to offer. One good book to get is ''The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an'' by Abdullah Yusef Ali.
Oh! And I am not a Muslim, but a Jew.
Hey! I like that comment about Bush wanting to control the world. How true.

The life of Muhammed, the Quran and the Islamic civilization confirm that Islam is a true religion.
Like many other religions in the past, Islam has been corrupted in various ways by false believers from inside and sabotage from outside. But, with true repentance from inside and tolerance from outside, we can rely on those religions in rebuiding our morality and our progress.
Please let us try in the fair direction.

One thing for sure and that is this guy does not have anything original to say.
I hope the website is not paying him to write because I have come across this very same article about a year ago by one other guy.
The verses he has quoted are out of context and other thing I have noticed is he is not even Christian because he has called Jesus "the prophet of Christians"

islam is a religion. Maybe you find it hard to believe that people can be so convinced of something you dont agree with. If you are a religeous person you may find that difficult to see.

Islam : IT is to believe that there is only 1 god, That muhammed is a prophet sent by God, to pray to god to thank him for everything he gave us, to give some of our money to poor people [Zakah], to fast each year a month [Ramadan] and to go to the Hidj [in mekka, for the ones who can of course].
These are the 5 things, if you do them, you are a muslim and you go to haven [As islam says].
Is this related to politics ?

Islam is a religion and a way of life. Religion is a way of life every day, not just on the Sabbath. Religion encompasses both Sabbath day and non-sabbath days, it encompasses everything, worship and all.
