The Bible nowhere states the age of the earth

Has science, then, in some ways disproved the Bible?

Well, sometimes it has appeared to be so.

For example, in the 18th century a deepening understanding of the makeup of the earth made it clear that our planet was very old.

At that time, many religionists insisted that, according to the Bible, the earth was only 6,000 years old.

This seemed a clear case of a Bible teaching being disproved.

The fact is, though, that the Bible nowhere states how old the earth is.

It was a misunderstanding on the part of those religionists that caused the problem

While the radioactive dating method is innovative, it is still based on speculation and assumption.

In contrast, the Bible account in the first chapter of Genesis simply states the general order of creation.

It allows for possibly thousands of millions of years for the formation of the earth and many millenniums in six creative eras, or “days,” to prepare the earth for human habitation.

Some dinosaurs (and pterosaurs) may indeed have been created in the fifth era listed in Genesis, when the Bible says that God made “flying creatures” and “great sea monsters.”

Perhaps other types of dinosaurs were created in the sixth epoch.

The vast array of dinosaurs with their huge appetites would have been appropriate considering the abundant vegetation that evidently existed in their time.—Genesis 1:20-24.

When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life.

But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when.

We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time.

They were no mistake, no product of evolution.

That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time.

Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God.

In the first place, the Bible never claims that the Earth is only a few thousand years old. The Bible doesn't dwell on dinosaurs because they were long gone by the time Adam and Eve were created. There are some Christians who believe that dinosaurs roamed the earth at the time of Adam and Eve, but I have problems with this notion.
Having said all that, I would encourage you to read Job in the Old Testament. It describes a creature that sounds a lot like a dinosaur.

Not being sexist or anything but those FIRST TWO girls obviously have no clue if all they can do is try to belittle the question being asked without giving an actual ANSWER in the first place. For the answer, I don't believe it's ever been said "the world is 6,000 years old", you probably misinterpreted that as people saying civilization is that old, but the world has been around far longer than the first trace of civilization (wherever that is... China, Middle East...).

the earth is thousands of years old. Now there are 3 earth ages, one before the garden and when Lucifer was the good guy still, then he fell and God recreated the second earth age which is the garden till the second coming ,and then the the third earth age will start and that is the 1000 millian! Now this earth age has 6000 years, but the earth in the prior one was thousand and thousand of years old! The dino's were in the first earth age, suddenly science and the bible line up! Christains are taught that its only 6000 years old but they have not done all there home work!

Eh? Missing out on a couple billion, hm? The age of the earth is 4.54 billion years!!!

Mankind, as we consider it human, and not ape like, is around that age you mentioned...6000+...so if dinosaurs lived around 200 million years ago...mystery solved...no humans around to record that to the bible, as nobody has ever seen them before, right?

When G-d made the world, he made a 6 billion year old world, with dinos buried and fossilized, and where would the Bible mention that?

6,000 years??? Come on. You should have paid attention in school.

We have physical proof that dinosaurs existed. We have NO physical proof of anything from the bible actually happening.
