Because it is in the nature of religion to exclude another religion. Each member of the religions, you mentioned, will say that his/her God is the right one and others is not. But actually all of them are similar religions.

Only Muslims have problem in letting others be.They fight even amongst themselves --Shias kill Sunnis & vice versa.Whwrever there is religious discord one of the parties is bound to be Islam. The nin Islamic world has to find a solution for this malady soon.

Excellent question, if I could give you points I would.

Religious leaders are the insigators of these fights because they don't wanna lose their positions of power. The Jewish leaders didn't wanna accept Jesus as the Messiah, because they'd instantly lose their positions of power. Same with the Popes. They never accepted Muhammad (pbuh) as Messiah, because they'd instantly lose their positions power. Same with the Mullas and Imams in Islam. They never wanted to accept El Bab and Baha'u'llah because they'd instantly lose their positions of power. (For reference, look at how Baha'is in Iran are treated. A Baha'i's life in Iran has value. Killing a Baha'i is not murder in that country.)

As for the laity, most just follow the teachings of their religious leaders without giving things a lot of study on their own. Then, should they meet someone of another religion, they are ill-equipped to recognize the vast similarities between the so-called different religions.

In the Baha'i Faith, we don't have clergy, and we're aware of the fact that there will be a new religion after us, once the Baha'i Era has completed its term. Whew!

All of God's religions teach the Golden Rule - love and obey God, love and obey parents, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, love your fellow man, etc. It's the outer things that differ, and that's what people focus on... sabbath day, holy book, clergy, pilgrimage/s (if any), ways of dress, calendar used, etc. These are secondary to the Golden Rule, that never changes.

It is but natural that you quarrel only with persons who are related to you in some way or the other. Anthropology and genetics have proved that all the different types of men- be they Americans, Asians, Europeans, Chinese etc- have branched out of a common stock of man, who had originated and migrated from Africa. Has that deterred us from fighting. You must remember that of all the living species, it is among the human species, there is genocide.

Such divisions arose, the Qur'an points out, because of undue selfishness, transgression, aggression and mutual jealousy (al-Baqarah 2:213; Al 'Imran 3:19). The Qur'an also points out that these divisions arose among people when they ignored the word of Allah and His guidance and "sold Allah's words for a paltry price"(al-Baqarah 2:79), when they went to extremes (ghuluww) in their religion, when they corrupted Allah's message (tahrif), when they consigned some part of it to oblivion, or when they took one part of Allah's teachings and ignored the other. Each group divided up Allah's messages and instead of following the knowledge (al-'ilm) that was given to them by Allah's prophets, they followed their own whims and wishes (ahwa').

Thus some evil religious leaders went astray and also misled their followers (al-Baqarah 2:120, 121; al-Ma'idah 5:177; Al-An'am 6:119; al-Rum 30:29; al-Jathiyah 45:18; Muhammad 47:14, 16)

The Qur'an makes us fully aware that there are a variety of religious communities, each happy with its own version of the truth (al-Mu'minun 23:53; al-Rum 30:32). They all possess some truth which is a part of the true Islam in their midst, but regrettably none of them has preserved the message of Allah in its complete and authentic form (al-Ma'idah 5:13-14). Allah sent Prophet Muhammad to guide humanity to the original and authentic faith and the message of Allah.

Some people get too deep into religion [ which is not bad ], but sometimes, they start to have their own thoughts, and start to think that other followers are just wrong and that they should be killed.
The right thing is to believe in what we hve and what we are, and let others practice their own religion.
Islam was very strict in this area and gave direct orders to believe in other religion, let the followers practice their religion and never fight with them, but as i said before, people always have their own poisoned ideas, that are never right.

Like a tree, they are from the same root but as the branches slowly grow, they are separating their way from one another.
Different things are going to mix as they differ on their interpretations. Same true with the concept when man was created and grew his population being scattered all over the vast wilderness. Now he has his own way, differring from others'.
