I read that somewhere, on a research paper on fixing kittens at seven weeks of age - both male and female kittens, it said, continued growing for a longer time than kittens fixed at a later age (control ages of fixing were seven months and a year). I'll try to locate the site and add it to my answer later.

But, my cat having been fixed at six months, I can definitely say that he shows no trend of getting fatter. If anything, he has grown a lot more playful since. I love him, and I am glad of having him, and of having him fixed ;)

Here it is!!!

Yes they do, depending also on the age of the cat when you have them fixed, if you fix them when they are full grown but still young they most probably won't get as big but they will start getting fat, If you fix when they are only six months old then you are going to sit with an enormous cat in all directions

Yes, it can make them end up growing larger, however be careful how young you do it because it can stunt their emotional growth. Meaning that they can have the behaviours of a kitten for life and that's not always a good thing.

Yes, they still grow bigger than female cats.

I had my tomcat, Kai, done age 5 months coz he was taking a fancy to his mum!!! He is now a really big cat. He isn't fat though coz he is very active. He is about twice the size of his mum now, though she is a very petite cat herself.

i had both of my cats neutered at 4 months old. one is now 5 yrs old, and he is fat - the other one is 3 yrs old, and he is small and slender. i guess it depends on the cat and maybe their breed.

They become lazy and get much fatter if you get them castrated before they are full grown.
