I am feeling pretty crappy, and I don't really know what to do anymore.
I've been both sleeping way too much and not being able to sleep at all, I've cried (and I never cry), and I've really cut back on my social life. I know that this is depression; I've been diagnosed before and had these symptoms.
I've also tried taking my prescribed anti-depressant, excercising, talking with my friends, spending time with my dog, listening to my favourite music, taking a relaxing bath, and making myself a nice meal. I will be visiting my psychologist tomorrow. But despite all of this, I still feel really terrible.
So do you all have any suggestions? I would appreciate it.

do you see a therapist? talk with a minister or therapist they maybe able to help you to figure out what is best.
I believe tho that talking with friends who are positive and careing and who understands can help you out.
When I feel depressed and down I talk with my positive friends and that helps me out alot.

I am so sorry. Depression is a terrible disease. I suffer from it and until I got the right medicine I was bed bound for 7 years. An example is I dropped my glasses between my bed and the wall. It took me 3 weeks to retrieve them. The key is the right medications. Sadly the only way to find the right one is through trial and error. A medicine that worked in the past may no longer work. I suggest seeing a doctor knowledgeable in treating depression

Hmmmm.... well you should tafe down your problems little by little and you'll eventually find a way to conquer it.
The first step in fighting depression is to understand what it is, how it affects you, and what causes it.
Second Learn about medication and psychotherapy, or "talk therapy", the standard treatments for depression.
Third think positive houghts and think about the times you've been happy in you life.
Being depressed is normal everyone will soon encounter it. It's just part of being alive. No one is always happy so there are chances that you'll feel bad.
Tnx!

Give yourself permission to feel crappy. Some times I do better if I just go with the flow instead of resisting it. Some times it's just the blues or the blahs and it can be a good chance to express these negative feelings instead of trying to contain or control them. Step back and examine what or why you are feeling this way. OR do nothing just do nothing. Lounge and be as repulsive as you want to get. Throw your own pitty party. Also take a look at your diet. Always drink plenty of water. Dehydration can make you feel crappy. Certain foods and drinks can add or take away from the way we feel.

Lots of people will tell you what to do and thats ok to a certain extent, but the bottom line is, "You need to do something for you" thats all ....... not your social group, not from me and not a psychologist ........ someone who "practices medicine" ....... gives you a handfull of dope and says this might make you feel better, and it might not. Your dog? Your dog will love you no matter what.
Use your frame of mind as a wake-up call, get mad, use whatever it takes to get motivated. Get outside and do something ....... A fitness program, school, canine obedience classes ....... ANYTHING. Commit to something you have to do more than once to see results, then stick with it. Start taking baby steps, one foot in front of the other ...... doing the next right thing. Soon you'll be able to turn around and honestly say "That's where I was, this is where I am ... Do I wand to go back? ...... Oh hell no! ..... I refuse to go back."
For me the answer was to find something bigger than me, then immerse myself into it.
Be patient ....... the answer is in your mind, its in your heart. You don't have to have the answer today.

Go back to your doctor and let him know you still have the symptoms. There are many anti-depressant drugs that he can prescribe. You are taking a prescription that doesn't work for you. Sometimes to find the right medication takes a bit of time.
Hang in there, you will make it.

I've been sleeping way too much too, and i think its cos i'm bored. not bored with immediate things around me, more like bored of life. when i get like this i play guitar.
i dont actually believe in depression as such- it was kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy with me, becoming something that i was being diagnosed with. At the time it seemed like an excuse.
If you're not sure about the whole picture with yourself, get a pen and a piece of paper, and go nuts! sounds crazy but it works!

Relax, you are taking the right steps. But don't expect to see changes overnight. You are in for a long journey my friend. Stock up on hope and perseverance to succeed! The way will be long and tiresome but you can do it! Just take it easy, breath deeply and smell the roses.

Hang in there! Depression can brought on by a multitude of things. I would say examine what has been going on in your life and try and figure out what happened to bring on the depression. If you can figure that out, you can normally reverse the depression but working out the problem.

You should probably go to a counselor. There is some event which has left you shattered. May not have been now, but could've happened long back which is still bugging you. Talk to a counselor. It will help you.
Good luck.
