The fruit is most often eaten chilled and cut in half so the flesh may be spooned out. The juice is used in frozen drinks and it is in a new Tropicana Twister flavor. The red fruit are high in lycopene which is a natural antioxidant that is known to fight cancer and heart disease.

Inside, the texture is like a cross between a watery melon and a pear, but scattered with tiny crunchy seeds, like a kiwi. The taste is also fairly melon-like, in that it is bland. Bland, bland, bland and somewhat sweet.

Try this!!

Ingredients
400g Greek yogurt
150g tropicalfruit luxury muesli, crunchy
1 dragon fruit, thickly sliced
45ml Acacia honey
1 lime, juice only

Method
1. Spoon half the yogurt into 2 serving glasses, and crumble a handful of the cereal over each.

2. Top with a few slices of dragon fruit, drizzle over a little honey, and add a squeeze of lime juice.

3. Top with the remaining yogurt, cereal, fruit, honey and lime juice.

4. Serve straight away if you like a crunchy texture, otherwise chill for an hour if you like it more chewy.

Just cut it into chunks for serving. You can make them either bite sized, or larger so people can cut them themselves.

I think its one of those fruits that look much better than they taste, but they add a talking point to a fruit salad.
