Now if I could only convince her of that...

Looking at a list of names, I would be more inclined to 'pick' a girl to date from her name, yes.

For instance, a girl named 'ShaNiqua' would likely be black, and I don't like black girls.

However, I certainly wouldn't NOT date a girl because of her name. If she is just an awesome girl with a horrible name... well.. the name can always change :P

Besides that though... two people's names have nothing to do with if they are compatible personality-wise.

It's what you want to beleive. I personally disagree but if you think that it's true then go for it! Keep beleiving that if you want to. Say your friend's name was Jane and she met a guy called Adam. Repeat it once in your mind and once speaking. What do you think? Do their names suit each other? Personally I don't care but do you? To be honest, does it really matter?

No. Names are given to babies at birth and no way reflect the character of the individual. I know several Micheals, I like some and don't like others.

this has been bothering me for a long time. see, my name begins with "s" and statistically my best freinds have names starting with "s". my girlfreind however has her name starting with "n". there's no logical explanation to this. after all remember what shakespeare had said? "what's in a name...a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose"
