Yes, actually, the people of that era did indeed have balls. I can't remember specifically what they used anymore, I think it was a couple of animal bladders, cut in half, and sewn together to make a sphere, then blown up and tied like a balloon, with the 'valve' tucked inside. But they played games just like kids today, just more freeform. They'd kick the ball around, but it wasn't about keeping score or making goals, it was about trying to keep the ball in the middle of the group. They'd play hot potato, but without elimination. And so on.

Cute question and an intersting way to catch attention. He might have but we do not know.Children have always found ways to amuse themselves. Balls have been around for a log time. Perhaps made out of the bladder of a cow. Or just somthing like a horse apple. WHo knows. LOL
