There's not nearly as much between them as they manufacturers would like you to think.

Get one with a large head (and therefore hopefully large sweet spot). If you want ease, go for one with more loft - 12 degrees or so - as they are more forgiving. (I play with a 12.5 degree driver and love it)

If you're so new to the game that you want our opinion, then quite honestly you'd be better saving a lot of money and buying a budget driver rather than the £200+ ones you're thinking about. Mine cost £25 from Sports Soccer, but you can get decent ones - Slazenger, Wilson etc - for under £50 in places like JJB too.

it depends on the individual but they'll all be pretty similar, just pick one and keep it for a while to get used to it then you'll find that one easier than the others.

note: they're all good but i would go for the R7

Will they let you demo the club on a driving range? which one feels best in your hands?

i prefer to tee off with my 3 wood -- and yes, my woods are wooden. can't hit a metal wood straight to save my par!!

Fore!!!! Come on down to SC and play.
