I smoked from 13 years old until I was 35. If you are truly ready to quit you will know it. It will be a life decision that you are comfortable with and proud to accomplish. My husband an I did it at the same time. He was NOT so excited about the idea, but knows how much the smell bothers me now so he quit unhappily along with me. We used Welbutrin. It kills the little cravings you'll have if you are VERY ready to quit. You will have good days and bad days, but think of your goal. Smoke free (no more STINK), clean lungs (no more COUGHING), saving money and time! With Welbutrin you take it for 2 weeks, pick a date and STOP! I quit before my due date, because I was just tired of waiting to be done with it all. I can happily say I have been smoke free 4 years last May! I had 2 drags off a cig once and have no craving for them. I think I could be a social smoker, but why bother? GOOD LUCK! We need more X-Smokers to rid the stink off the planet ;)

well i smoked for 33 years and have been smoke free for 2 weeks, not long but it is a start, my man does not smoke so i don't have anyone blowing smoke in my face, but his going through oral cancer and treatment, and treatment for the treatment and my number one nephew saying that i would die woke me up. So picked a stop date and when i get the urge i chew a nigabate chewie and think of the money i am saving plus my lungs are not so sore now and take on day at a time. This is my fourth time of trying to quit and this will be my last. I am determined to make this time.

People think that smoking only effects the lungs, if people knew what smoking does to thier entire body then they would stop straight away.
Everything bad that happens in the body viruses, parasites, mold, fungi even cancer thrive in an anerobic enviroment (without oxygen) these things cannot survive in an aerobic enviroment (with oxygen) smoking, pollution, all toxins, poor diet all essentially take oxygen away fro the blood. This effects the ph balance, the body works hard to maintain this balance and will go to great lengths to do so. It resorts to stealing nutrients from other vital organs including skin, bones, and teeth resulting in premature ageing, dental problems, cancer and osteoperosis. How do you quite smoking??? stop, stop cold turkey right now...its hard enough to avoid toxins in the air and food let alone volountarily breathing in toxins...red cross study done about a year ago. Sample taken from the umbilical cord of a baby found (dont quote me) over 200 toxic compounds,87 of them to be found carcinogenic and over 20 toxic to the brain and nervous system. You breath in smoke then exhale it and think nothing of it, but if you knew what was happening in your body everyhting time you did it....lets just say it would be an eye opener to say the least. Internally your body goes crazing trying to get rid of the toxins and quickly repair/balance the damge that you have just done. At the end of your ciggarette you body breaths a massive sigh of releif.
If you like me to give you one simple procedure to do, to prove to yourself the damage you have done/doing then email me hope this helps. Also I know a product that is amazing at detoxifying the body. Vist www.zeolitesfordetox/davidlawrence

Having smoked for 33 years, smoke free for three years now. I can tell you it is the hardest thing you will do. Stop in the mornings. Don't stop all today stop this morning don't light that first cigarette. Wait! Each day wait a little longer when you can wait till afternoon to light up try to quit. Keep trying everyday till you do.
You have to want to. Every-night as you go to sleep tell yourself how bad the smoke is (I told myself that it smelled and tasted like dog fur, to this day I smell dog fur yuck)
Good luck to you. By the way remember keep trying if at first you don't succeed try try try again.

Well cancer cures the habit of course. So does heart disease, emphysema, pretty much it hits you where ever you are weakest.
Nicotine patches help. Hypnoses may help.
Look, I spent 20 years watching a grandfather die of emphysema, drowning in your own lungs is not fun. Never took up the habit. But you have become addicted to one of the hardest drugs to break the habit of.
Good luck to you.

quit!!!
it's as easy as that
cold turkey is the best althouh hardest way.
A tip that worked for me is the following
The addiction to smoking is not just nicotine craving it also has a lot to do with the habits of lighting one up and sticking it in your mouth. What really worked for me is try to have something you can stick in your mouth handy whenever you get cravings like lollies or what did it for me liquorice wood!!!

If you have a girlfriend or wife tell her to say "I will leave you if you don't quit and I really mean it" that helps if you truely love them...
