a welll balanced diet, some exercise and making sure you get enough sleep can help.
talking about whats causing the stress can help to relieve it. when someone will listen to whats been getting you down during the day. this is a good way to stop pressure building up. try talking to friends or family first.
find the underlying cause of the stress. you may need to reconsider the balance of activities in your life. take some time off to think about what you want your life to be like. it may sometimes be a difference between what you feel you ought to do and what you really like to do. maybe you havent worked out a way of doing it that you would enjoy or succeed with.
relaxing your whold body slows the body down and calms the mind. its easy to do and a good antidote to stress. try massage, yoga or meditation.

I think finding something to do that you like, such as finding a hobby or doing an activity that keeps you busy, helps you reduce stress because you're not thinking much [about the things that usually worry you]. Exercise helps too, and also other activities like yoga, aerobics, and taking daily walks helps you keep off stress. A good night sleep isn't a bad idea either, so your mind is always fresh and peaceful. Remember that stress/anxiety is all in your head, so it's up to you to control your emotions and self. Try thinking positively about things, and try to take deep breaths when a hard situation approaches. Something that always helped me was my Ipod, and my cell phone. Whenever I felt distress, I simply listened to music or my favorite song, or called a friend and keep my head distracted.

There are actually a few ways you can do this. The first way that i strongly recommend is meditation. This practice of controlled breathing and focused thought has been doing the trick for me for years. Its not hard to do, and is a great way to relax. You first sit in a comfortable position and get comfortable, chair, floor, bed, whatever, just get comfortable. Then take a few deep breaths. With each breath imagine your muscles relaxing and becoming more loose. Then pick a thought that is peaceful to you and think about it. Find a single word that sums up that thought to you. Start taking long slow breaths. Everytime you exhale say the word to yourself. You may find this to be very relaxing, or very boring, depending on you. Hope this helps.

Sometimes people feel stressed and anxiety because they have to much idol time...try becoming more active, exercise, get a hobby, read..keep yourself busy. One can make themselves stressed by thinking to much about things that are out of their control. If that doesn't help, you may need to see your Dr. and take a mild antidepressant. I felt anxiety when I was laid off from my job. I had to learn, no amount of worry is going to change it, I can do something about it by finding another job. I did have to go on a mild antidepressant, because my anxiety led to a few panic attacks. That is when I realized something needed to change.

hello...
i used to have panick attacks and overwhealming anxiety all the time and this helped...hope it can help u.
Fist of all...breathe!!! seems silly, but anxiety gets u in a viscious circle...if u are nervous, then your heart rate goes up, your stomach tightens and your brain races..(sounds familiar??) the problem is that then you become concious of your body reactions, you focus even more on them and react by saying...oh my god...my body reacts this way so i must be anxious...so you end up panicking even more. it really helps to break the cycle by stopping 4 a few min..(remember..it takes a few min 4 ur body to calm down after physical exercise, so it will take some time to calm it down if u r stressed). To stop just focus on slow breathing and write (that helped me out) whatever you r feeling. in this way you express your tension/anxiety but are not overwhealmed by it. hope this can help : ) good luck

there are a lot of ways to relieve stress liek taking a walk, listening to soothing music, or just getting away from stressful situations for a while. i was told that the first step is to know why you are anxious and try to narrow down what it is that is stressing you out. if it is just life in general there are mild medications that can help.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.
Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

There's a saying: "You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist's office."
Get a motorcycle. Feel the sun and wind. By the time you get home, you'll have forgotten what that was that was bugging you.
