Are we today obsessed about money? Do we view it as the end all be all of life? That is so depressing. Equally depressing is the "it's all about me." Is this what the world has come to? Have we hardened our hearts that much? SO many people today are afraid that everything might cost them something remember this "The LAW demands LITTLE but LOVE demands MUCH." And it is not just money. Love is what matters.

I am not saying money is not needed just that it is not of the importance given it. In my case though Love does pay the bills. I work in nursing, long term care, I love those whom I care for and in return I receive a small salary. Barely enough but we make it. I could work elsewhere for more money but it would be empty.Money is simply a tool. Like a hammer or a screw driver.

Do not build much, for I intend to have you in ruins. If you build two hundred houses in a manner that the bees do; I shall make you as homeless as a fly. If you are the mount Qaf in stability. I shall make you whirl like a millstone

Debra,
Great question. My take on this is that we live in a world that is into instant gratification. The kids (and adults too.) today see something and want it. Most parents just buy it, because if they don't the kids will have a bloody fit. I think that somewhere we have lost that need to feel love. Our lives are so busy running here and there that many people have forgotten to have a relationship with God. Who is the one that would feel that "need" we have. Not buying the most, the biggest, or just buy anything.

I keep reading articles about removing God from our schools, our City buildings, now they are upset because on our money it reads "In God we trust." Hello people its Gods money anyways. He just lets us decide how and were we are spending it. I just pray that people will come around and realize that the need that they feel could be filled with the love of God himself.

It is the currency of the kingdoms of this world. If the money don't get you the cares will. Nothing new here, money and power is usually god for most.

Moses had a choice between joining his own people in poverty or becoming Pharaoh of all Egypt. Sure could have helped his people as top dog of one of the greatest civilizations of all time. -- but God never works that way.

To many Christians got a garage full of unused stuff they just had to have. Want a revelation about this country. Go to the junk yard.

Unless you are living your life for other people you aren't living the life of Christ. I hate to tell myself this, but it is true. The creator of this universe came to earth and became a servant.
What's my excuse? What's yours?

True, law demands little and love demands much.

According to the Word not one little thing that love does for someone else will go unrewarded and that carries not only to friends but to enemies.

The entire monetary system we use today has evolved in such a way as to create trillions of pounds of debt.

The way money is created and lent into circulation guarentees that the overall level of debt can never be repaid. I am NOT saying if you borrow money that you cannot repay it. But the TOTAL of all the money lent into circulation PLUS the interest required on the debt cannot be repaid. Why? The interest required is never created!

I shall repeat that. The interest on all the worlds loans has never been created (in any form, paper or electronic) and therefore does not exist in the money supply.

So that is why people are always running around trying to get money, the amount of debt created by lending money into circulation can never be fully repaid. There is always more money owed to the banks than actually exists in circulation. So long as that is the case, there will always be losers in the system (by design) . So long as there are always going to be losers in the system, and people understand what that means (bankruptcy) and try to avoid being one of the losers, there will always be people chasing the elusive money with almost religious zeal.

I don't think money is the problem, it's folks relationship with it.
We live in an individualist society, it comes from the enlightenment.
Look at your history. Before the industrial revolution if you were a surf working on tenent land you wern't bothered to be equal with anyone, you knew your place in the hierarchy. But now we are all s'posed to be equal. It the american way, anyone can be what they want say the neo cons. But you know it's BS. Sure you may win the lottery, but you will still be invisible after 15 minutes.

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (mammon means money)
Mat 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
1Ti 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Many will fall away to the doctrine of money. Keep your eyes focused on jesus and do not be deceived. Bless you.

The Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil. People putting money as the "god" is not a new thing. It has been happening for a long time.

You're right. Greed. Selfishness. Worship of the Creation, rather then the Creator.... All of this was foretold to happen by the book of Revalations.

It is a sign that Armageddon is approaching.
