I am 16 and female. My Mum, Dad and brother have seen me nude often (going to and from the bathroom of a morning - I sleep nude). No biggie. But my friend's Dad walked in on her accidently yesterday and she totally freaked out. Who's reaction is more normal, mine or my friends?

Just depends what you are used to when you grow up.

Some families like yours seem to be more open about nudity, and others, like your friends seem to be more private.

Nothing normal or abnormal, just a difference is family ways.

Its not about normal or not normal. Its more about how comfortable you are with yourself. Im more shy and reserved and really dont care to see my family members naked or for them to see me either. However, even tho I didnt promote it, I have a sixteen year old son who will walk into a living room full of guests buck naked, just fresh from the shower and not care a bit. regular Guests in our home have somehow adapted to his behavior, unfortunately. We all just expect it. It was cute when he was 2 years old, but not so much now. He argues that this is how God had him enter the world and he has no reason to be ashamed. Guess we all know that he will work his way thru college as a male dancer or something. lol. Really, if your family is comfortable with your nakedness, dont fret over it. All families have their own little deals. Thats what makes us interesting.

It just depends on a person. I too would completely freak out if someone sees me naked, even though my mother and my sister have no problems with "exposing" themselves to me.
On the other hand, in my husbands family it doesn't even matter if a family member of an opposite gender sees them. That's making me freak out even more.
But, that's just the way families are. I think none is wrong, it's just how people feel about nudity.

I guess it depends on how you were raised.I freaked out when I was a teen when my dad needed to come in Bathroom for loo while I was in bath.
I realise now was no biggie as i had shielding from loo
My children were raised a little more liberally.
Taught that the body not to be ashamed of.accidental sightings are just that.None of my kids grew to be perverts.
All are in their 40's now with no such inhibitions

it totally depends on your family culture, tradition. If you feeling better in nude in front of father, brother and mom also and they accept it, the no question about it. But you can also careful about the outsider, in front of them should get your clothes on. Nude sleep is not harmful - if your parents and other family member also agree that.

I think it's ridiculous that you walk around nude in front of your dad and brother at your age...in front of your mom, not a big deal...I dont believe it's so much up bring as the others seem to... I've always had a bath, gotten dressed while my girls will come in and chat with me...they never let another family member see then naked..me included...you sound more like an exhibitionist to me...only my opinion...

depends on way ur brought up. Tho you should be wearing gown at your age and being nude in front of your family is not a good thing. Your a grown teenage not a little girl anymore. Your friend values her privacy its uncool for her dad to see her naked.

Wow, you lead a peaceful life. I also sleep nude, i try to avoid my family seeing me nude so as not to make them feel uncomfortable. But i would not freak out if they did.

Your reaction is a sign of your upbringing. If you grow up in a "naked house", you'll be much more comfortable with your body and generally won't have a problem with nudity. Other people have problems with nudity. As a rule of thumb, the more religious and prude a family is, the more problems they'll have with nudity.
