Sometime I got such a bad headache, but can't go to sleep.
I know there is tylenol pm and bla..bla.. I've been taking pills for month, and I'm afraid to be addicted to.
So please, be kind do not leave a bad comment, but an ANSWER.

Start slow. Go to bed 15 minutes early, make sure the room is dark, that you've got the room adequately warm or cool, that you aren't being bothered by noise. Do this for a couple days. Then go to bed 15 minutes earlier than that. Repeat until you're finally sleeping at a decent hour.

Do things that wind you down earlier in the evening. Don't exercise after dinner. Start turning lights down lower, do more relaxing things. Some finding reading helpful to put them to sleep. Some find tv helpful.

Another method that I have to use (I work graveyards, and occasionally I have to switch my schedule all around to do something in the daytime), is to stay up REAL late one day (on a day off), and then get up REAL early, providing only a few hours of sleep. Then you'll get tired earlier, and it should be easy to go to bed earlier.

there is a prescription drug called ambien or ambien cr ask your dr to put you on this, part of the pill makes you go to sleep with ease and the other part keeps you asleep. it is non habit forming and non addictive
