I am amazed that people still, in this day and age, can be involved with christianity. It is so obviously a fraud , made up to keep the masses (?) in fear of a "god" that just does not exist. Its history is constantly proven to be false. Why do clever people STILL get involved?
Nothing in Christianity is original. The pre-Christian God Mithras - called the Son of God and the Light of the World - was born on December 25, died was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days. By the way, December 25 is also the birthday or Osiris, Adonis, and Dionysus. The newborn Krishna was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Even Christianity's weekly holy day was stolen from the pagans.
Dont get me wrong, I think ALL religion is stone age and wrong, but christianity is proveably wrong, and still the mass delusion.
Dont you realise how ridiculous you sound??

Make one thing clear here. There is NO evidence, nothing , not a single tangible piece of history that christianity has claimed for itself, that can make it real.
Even christians are selective believers, and all of them KNOW its false because they dont actually practice it properly , and they dont have fear of their god because they KNOW its rubbish. They claim to be "in touch" but they know they arent , so the delusion goes on... why?

I'm afraid Christianity has not been disproven by history, "The Church" has.
Jesus was not born on december 25, no he was not, he was alive for 3.5 years, and died at the passover, which means he cannot have been born december 25 meaning he was born september - october. christmas actually means "Christ Mass" which was done by the church,- the mass itself is also unbiblical. Christs birth on dec 25 was invented by the church to make Christianity more appealing to the pagans (who worshiped many sungods births for the same date). Also do you really think the shepherds that met Christ as a baby would be out in the middle of winter in Isreal? no way !! . The church also changed the 10 commandments, did you know?
Its hard today, because there is just so many false teachers out ther who mix and match with Bible doctrine untill they get what they desire. And no the Christian's weekly holy day is the Sabbath, the 7th day of the week, saturday, "the church" also changed this day also, to make Christianity more appealing to the heathen/pagan religions. (this is one of the 10 commandments they changed)
From gold frankincense and myrrh, I have no idea where that is from, perhaps I need to study hinduism, but most religions nowadays are counterfeits, and serve a purpose to direct peoples attention away from Christ Jesus, or to another Jesus.
If you have more questions please email me, I would love to answer your questions.

I think your question is a little dogmatic.....but.....FORGET WHETHER YOU OR RIGHT OR WRONG FOR A MINUTE.
Some of the worlds greatest works of art have been created in the name of all kinds Gods'. Christianity being just one. SO FOR THAT REASON ALONE I AM KINDA THANKFUL.
Without the recognition of the higher force(GOD) we are nothing. You are NOTHING, and when nothing is nothing....Nothing = NOTHING. You cannot possibly live a life that has any REAL MEANING without recognising the existance of your own connection with the universe. I am connected to you and yet I dont even know where you live and you are connected to me. Dont ask me how, because it would take me pages to explain, but surfice it to say the very air we breath is our connection. Without air we all die.....It is being thankful for just that small example that people will believe in GOD.
I hate organised religion of any kind but to believe in the inexplicable is kinda cool and very comforting.
Christianity in its purest form and not adulterated with religious dogma is an amazing concept. If its a fraud then it has what is believed to be the greatest message that ever was uttered.
Aethiests argue that you cannot prove the existance of GOD which is very unintelligent because there is so much evidence around you that you cannot help to believe in the existance of God. NEITHER CAN YOU DISPROVE IT. GOD is the expression used to describe the inexplicable and unfathomable. It is not a person dressed in a white robe sitting in a cloud up in the sky.....it is a force. a life force, an indifinable ''intelligence'', a wonderous realisation that everything is perfection. Even GODS imperfections are perfect by definition. That is why the message from Jesus is so important whether you believe in Christianity or not, or even if its a fraud. IT DOES NOT F*******G! matter.
OF COURSE GOD EXISTS ....YOU YOURSELF IS ''GOD'' Everything is GOD! BUT GOD IS INEXPLICABLE....THAT MUCH I WILL CONCEDE.
Christianity??? DOGMA but not a fraud. The message has GOOD.

This is from a piece exposing the errors in the DaVinci code:
Error #5: Christianity borrowed its beliefs from the pagan religion of Mithraism. Mithraism worshipped the pre-Christian God Mithras, called the Son of God and Light of the World, who was born on December 25th, died, was buried in a rock tomb, and then resurrected in three days.
"Scholars of Mithraism would strongly disagree with Brown on all of these points. Nowhere is Mithras given the title Son of God and the Light of the World. Brown apparently made this up because it sounded good. Mithras was born on December 25th, however this proves nothing. The New Testament never associated December 25th with the birth of Christ. The early Christians chose to celebrate the birth of Christ on this day intentionally to oppose the pagan mid-winter festival of Saturnalia. They never claimed Jesus was actually born on that date. The claim that Mithras died and was buried in a rock tomb is just not true. Scholars will tell you that in Mithraism there is no death of Mithras at all. So, there was no rock tomb and no resurrection. "
It is not Christianity that is the fraud, it is based on a historic person, Jesus, and historic events as recorded by eye witnesses. No historic accounts in Scripture have ever been proven false by archiological findings. I am sorry, but when you present DaVinci Code nonsense as your evidence, we are not the ones who appear rediculous.

I was baptised a Christian and I tried to understand it and moreover, I tried to believe... all I ended up with was frustration because as you say nothing is true in Christianity, a lot of it is corrupt and illogical... things like god loves all his children, but homosexuality is bad! Or things like if a child isn't baptised and dies, it won't make it to heaven! What kind of sick god would condone that?
My first reaction was atheism then I started reading and I found out a lot more about pre-christian beliefs and paganism, now that gave me the answers I wanted! I am now officially a pagan, since I'm also a herbalist and aromatherapist, 400 years ago, Christians would have declared me a witch and burnt me at the stakes! That's how "evolved" this religion is!
I don't believe that clever people are Christians, only manipulative people and gullible people to follow them.

I cannot add to what you say---some a little off, but on a whole, I agree with you.
The one story that amazes me, and shows how the original church drew people in is this: At Ephesus, in Turkey, the church could not find converts as they would not give up their goddess Diana. So, tho very little had been mentioned before about Mary, mother of Jesus, they brought her in as something more than just a woman and moved her into the ''holy'' position so they could squeeze Diana out and the people would still have their goddess concept and become Christians. That was the beginning of the importance of Mary. They made up stories about her to entice the people. I do like this account of church history as if shows how the church worked, and still does.

i noticed that most people that believe everything they hear usually go to church every sunday. so i guess that easily impressionable people are the most faithful to their religion. I find it ironic that Scientology is becoming more popular and was invented by a fiction writer in 1952. Christianity is similar in the sense that is is based on a fairy tale. I was brought up as a Methodist and I haven't been to church since I was 9 years old. I knew even back then that it was a load of crap. I guarantee you that if I was to tell someone something is true that most people would be skeptics. But once I put on a white collar or pastoral robes that 80 percent of people would belive me without question no matter how absurd the statement was.

We all live in delusion.
You are more upset by Christian delusion because it keeps thrusting itself in your face. It's probably not any worse than any other kind.
NONE OF THEM ARE ORIGINAL. Maybe nothing is. It all has to come from somewhere. I read that even chimpanzees jump up around a pole in the ground, like the may pole, the christians just put a crosspiece on it.
However, to attempt to answer your question: As none of us know the truth, we have a choice of living in a continual state of un-knowing, or taking up one of the faiths that give the answers. If we find the state of un-knowing unbearable, we will opt for the state of knowing, however ridiculous it might be. The act of faith gives relief to the tension, because we now no longer have to keep on making decisions for ourselves, we know where the answers are, all we have to do is study the relevant texts. This is a relatively comfortable situation for some.
Of course, not all religions or religious people are like this. Some are on a quest of discovery, but I think that this is the type of religion to which you refer.

Religion is a choice as is Christianity, what it comes down to is faith, I myself am a pagan but believe God is the divinity of Mother Earth and all its perfection, that doesn't make me a Christian!
Christians are fools to a certain degree as they worship in houses of stone and believe that to be happy is to be miserable, Christians don't celebrate their faith they mourn it!
Which is ridiculous...
I visited the Vatican not so long ago on a trip to Rome and was marvelled by the Cisten chapel and St.Peters Cathedral, but only at the marvel of its beauty not what it claims to be!
To truly follow God is not to worship false idols. I.e. wealth, which is the complete opposite of what Christianity, does!
The amount of wealth the church has could run a small country! It makes me sick...
As this is not what God wanted, doctrine and gospel are man made and falsified to a certain degree to suit the will of the Christian church and to make people believe they can only truly find Divine eternal life through going to church. It is true that the Christians did corrupt certain pagan rituals and idols into its church making it their own.
God is not confined to the church, he is all around us
"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, not in mansions of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there -- lift a stone and you will find me. These are the hidden sayings that the living Jesus spoke. Whoever discovers the meaning of these sayings shall not taste death"
Taken from the Gospel according to Thomas, which are the actual words of Christ on the night of the last supper.
The church regards this Gospel as heresy and has it locked away in the Vatican tombs, as they fear it would bring down the church itself....
Bite that Christianity

Not being original doesn't make something false.....true there is nothing new under the sun....but only in christianity is there ample evidence to support peoples faith in it.....I don't mean to scare you, but I was just like you. I set out to prove christianity false because my sister became a christian and wanted to show her....after several months of heavy research.....I just could not explain it away and I and became a christian.....i challenge you to do the same.....start with a small book called Evidence that demands a verdict by McDowell.

As a christian all I know is that my calling is to love my neighbour. If you do some studying and have a smidge of biblical history you will find that many parts of the bible were written to help a small group believe in just the one God and not the hundreds of other deities worshipped in the area they lived.
My faith is partly based on the bible but you have to consider reason and experience as well.
