drink lots of water daily, eat lots of fruits and vegetables daily, and get regular exercise, such as walking. It is not necessary to defecate every day; but 3-5 times a week is good for most people.

It depends what is 'regular' for you. some people defecate up to three or four times a day, while others defecate only once every three days. My ex boyfriend used to treat me like i was insane or weird because he was a 3 times a day person, and i'm a once every three days. so just because you're going every couple days doesnt mean you're somehow unhealthy and irregular.
however, if you are irregular, i would reccomend either taking a fiber suppliment/eating fiber rich foods, and exersizing. as you mentioned metabolism, if you want to increase it, defenitly exersize more.
Oh and if you're wondering, don't try foods that give you diarrea. this dehydrates you and is bad. Good luck!

The best thing you can do for that is to drink plenty of water every day. The next two best things are to get plenty of fiber in your diet and to exercise regularly. If any of those three elements are missing, it can cause constipation.
Good luck!

A glass of milk before you sleep will help you excrete your body impurities when you wake up in the morning. Avoid chocolate and peanut butter.

drink lots of fluids, water is great and fresh fruit and veggies. If that doesn't work then have your thyroid checked......constipation is a symptom.
