Not if they keep kosher, no. Kosher Jews aren't supposed to eat shellfish either.

"Of the "beasts of the earth" (which basically refers to land mammals with the exception of swarming rodents), you may eat any animal that has cloven hooves and chews its cud. Lev. 11:3; Deut. 14:6. Any land mammal that does not have both of these qualities is forbidden. The Torah specifies that the camel, the rock badger, the hare and the pig are not kosher because each lacks one of these two qualifications. Sheep, cattle, goats and deer are kosher."

maximum Jews nevertheless evaluate pigs as unclean animals no count number the way it became raised. some innovative Jews trust that the prohibition against beef turned right into a mundane regulation on the topic of how undesirable pig meat became 3000 or so years in the past. present day strategies of elevating and cooking beef with make it a lot less risky and hence it truly is alright to eat. Many Orthodox Jews evaluate the regulation to be more beneficial major and that the regulation should be obeyed without wondering no matter if it truly is healthful is a moot element. they could by no ability agree that eating beef is okay. some self proclaimed Jews are of Jewish historic previous yet not followers of Judaism. because the prohibition against beef is for non secular causes, they could eat beef and nevertheless call themselves Jews (some Jews merchandise to this use). Many non-practising Jews nevertheless circumvent beef. So I genuinely were instructed.

Jewish people don't eat pork because they follow the Tanach (or Hebrew old testament). Which i beleive still applies to Christians today.

I do not eat pork because it is labeled as a sin. I do not eat much meat either, because most meat is riddled with blood, which to eat is also a sin.

Anyway eating less meat is better for you anyway, did you know that the USA has more diversity of disease then any third world country??

There's a big community of people in the Himalayas who reach well over 100 years old because of their diet, they do not get cancer, infact most disease in that order is very rare, all they eat is fruit!!!

God also says that the body is the temple of God, and it should not be defiled. I count unhealthy food as defiling, and I beleive God does also.

It's not the pig they hate... it's the pork!
Or maybe it's the other way around... hate the pig but love the pork but don't eat it because the pig is hateful...some circular reasoning thing going on maybe.
It might just be hate the pig and hate the pork...that's simple and straightforward.

nope, no pork, not at all.

also, no meat mixed with dairy. no eating meat on a dish that has ever been used to eat a dairy food, and vice versa.

and there is more, of course, but those are the absolute basics of kashrut i would say.
