OMG WHY do they??? My 2 yr old spends about 50% of his waking hours tormenting his [poor sisters. The rest of the time is spent banging things, hitting things, taking things apart, eating and watching SpongeBob (the only TV I can get him to sit still for)

its not just only little brothers do irritate their elder sisters, even big brothers do so, not only brothers but both younger as well as elder sisters irritate their sisters and brothers. u see its a part of our life. it is said that if there is no fight between a brother and a sister than there is something wrong between them. u should think that the he spends teasing u is the best time of your life, which u won't understand right now. the day u 2 will be separated u will find it to be true. in short, they tease u because they love u. even u must be teasing your best friend the mos thats because u love her. the only solution i can give u is,start teasing your brother u yourself will not be able to miss that a single day.

It works both ways, the biggest trouble maker around here is my little madam of a niece, she just loves winding up my nephews! They do get their own back from time to time but her personality means she's always back with the big spoon before too long!

I guess that it depends on the individual rather than gender. I used to wind my sister up, but then again nobody could get ME wound up like her!

Even at a young age boys know that they can dominate over girls..they know that girls cannot learn to climb trees and ride cycle as quick as they do...and also the environment at home make them develop this habit..in most of the families boys are not allowed to do house hold chores which are expected to do by their female siblings..so may be they tend to take advantage of this....

All children are learning constantly.
Learning by being taught, yes.
Also, by example.
Examples that are great and examples that are bad.
Look at baby animals. They watch everything intensly. They know the way to live is to learn.
Children are the same. They have to learn to live.

Because we're boys and they're giirrrrlllls.....
hahaha...... just messing with you.
Its unfortunately part of the growing up process. As long as it is not inherently malacious, then there's not much to worry about. However, I would advise you to check out girls to. They are not such angels as we are led to or want to believe.
