If someone serving food didn't wash their hands, I would probably say something sarcastic enough to get them to wash their hands. If it was a friend who didn't, I would make a joke about it (that should be enough to get it sorted out!).

I think people don't wash their hands, because they can't see anything on their hands. If you could actually see germs running over your hands, you would be more likely to wash 'em!

Well, I've confronted my friends about that-and then they wash their nasty hands-and I have reported on a food server that she did not wash her hands. She was fired-heeheehee-serves her right. I wish they had some type of device-before you leave the restroom to make sure your hands are clean and if not-it would be funny if the the security guarding the restroom wouldn't let you out-until then-or else you'd be arrested-for public safety reasons-->makes perfect sense to me.

Uh, gross! But I see this frequently. It has gotten so bad out there, I do the following: 1) I wash my hands BEFORE and after going!; 2) I wash my hands even when I go at home!!

eww i have no clue why someone would not wash their hands, unless they just werent brought up to do it. if it is someone serving food that does not wash their hands, you can complain because that is against the law, at least here in california. however, if its a friend, you can just be like hey heres some soap, i had some extra, or something corny like that.

Make fun of the person who didn't wash their hands. At some point in their life their mother taught them better than that. It's really gross to not wash your hands.

I think a lot of times it's a matter of people thinking they're clean and didn't touch anything, so they don't need to wash their hands. What they're neglecting to realize, however, is that maybe the person who used the toilet before them WASN'T so clean and DID touch themselves, and then proceeded to flush the toilet and open the lock on the stall door. These people who don't wash up afterwards are touching that person's nasty crotch, in a round about way.

I think it's disgusting, as is the people who come out of the stall and turn on a *tiny* trickle of cold water and rinse just their finger tips on one hand. I'm sorry people, but a crotch is a f*cking crotch...I don't care how clean you THINK you are...you're not.

Then I scrub my hands (as we should!) but it becomes pointless because I have to grab the door handle after the nasty non-handwashing skank before me touched it on her way out.

well I don't work in the food service industry but there are times when I don't wash my hands afterwards but the thing is is I usually don't pee on my fingers and my stuff isn't all sweaty and nasty so why should I? besides I also normally do wash my hands before I go though

Not something they've been taught or even think about, probably. I always wash my hands (and remember those who don't!) and never touch the door handle on the way out (use paper towel or whatever is handy) :)

Some people don't. If people who are serving food aren't then you have serious grounds for making a complaint! You could try to encourage your friends to get into the habit, by example.

If you see a food server who doesn't wash his/her hands, It would be a moral obligation to report him/her. As for the general public, I guess their mamas didn't teach them very well.
