I would say not. I am an animal lover and could never do that.

I would never stop my cat from catching mice (I hope not where I live, but one never knows), but I wouldn't dream of getting a mouse too feed him with. I mean, no way - I know it's the natural way for cats to feed, but there are substitutes that do not involve getting a whole mouse in my flat. I do buy my cat toy mice and make sure to play with him with them - I make them stalk and chase, but... the biggest pray he has caught at my flat was a wasp that got blown in during a strong wind gust.
To get a mouse one can buy at a pet store to feed my cat - no, no, no. I mean, mice in my grandparents' barn are a pest, and cats have the full right to feed on them if they can catch them - but mice that do no harm to anybody... nope.
That's my own POV, I don't limit anybody else doing anything, I just don't see any sense in killing things that don't bother you. I mean, how can a mouse in the pet store bother my cat, who is at home? ;)
Anyway, I know animals have been killed for my food, and especially for my cat's food (well, cats are carnivores, and they need animal meat, and that's that), and that has nothing to do with ethics - it's necessity (I know, I have been a fair way to becoming a vegetarian, then I though better of it - really thinking, not just listening to emotions only). But to get a mouse someplace for the purpose of feeding the cat - no. No more than getting a live chicken for me to butcher, pluck, etc. myself (I have helped plucking & other things at my grandma's) - why would I do that, I would not be able to find a reason. When I grow old and live on a farm, then I will raise things for food; right now, I'll settle for consuming them.

There are hundreds of items that you can feed cats that are less expensive and better for cats than live mice. So it is not humane to feed them to cats.
However, if you have a pet snake, it is still not humane from the mice point of view but it is what snakes eat.
So, for cats it isn't ethical, for snakes it is.

I don't think so because I mean the mice would have to suffer, but the cat's like chasing things and then killing them

it sounds mean on the surface but people feed live mice to snakes so I guess what is the difference, though it isn't something I would ever consider doing

Definitely not humane. Let the cat catch the mice itself if it wants to, but to just give it live mice is wrong.

Humane? Not really, in a sense cause you're basically feedin' a living being to another. It's natural, because thats how it works in the animal kingdom, but in human terms its just plain horrible.
Besides, who's going to clean that awful mess?

No... the idea of it is very saddening. I can't bear to see cats actually killing the mice just to feed off them. Feed them cat foods instead =).

no it is very inhumane as the mouse will go through much stress and pain befor it is killed by the cat. in the uk it is illigal to feed five mamals to animals. bugs and fish can be fed live
