To shut up? I don't like guys who talk alot, but I like this guy 'cos he's adventurous and sweet. But he calls me everyday, sometimes twice a day and talks about everything. I really don't care about his walk over to his friends house...really.
What would you say if given a chance?

There are alot of people who talk alot because they are nervous. In my college phsycology class we discoussed the personality type of someone like that. People talk about meaningless stuff and ramble on because they are usually afraid of anything deeper. They fear silence because it will let them travel to their own emotions, which they push away. Try reading up on personality type 7 in the eneagram. You can just do a search for this, but it should describe this guy perfectly! My best advice for you would be to bring up something that would require him to talk about something emotional to him. You'll notice he'll slow down and have a hard time finding what to say. Or you could always take the bold approach and say, "Hey! Seriously! We can never have a good conversation if you never give me a chance to talk, can't you just be happy if we just dont say anything at all!" Chances are he can't.

Would really depend on my mood, cuz i would listen as long as the conversation isn't about sex all the time. But if I was in a pissy mood i'd make up excuses about me having to do something or tell everyone and my friends that i don't want to talk to him for a few days so always say i'm out or doing something.

Hmmm get caller id.. I know there are moments I am just not in the mood and it helps when they get the answering machine. Or be honest, tell him how you feel, then there is always "I'm really busy right now, when things slow down I will call you back."

Try to deviate the topic... You start speaking on something and try to change it usually in your talk in this way u both wont be bored. But i suggest u not to tell him directly to shut up as this might hurt him if he is very sensitive. Actually guys are sensitive but they don't express freely...

Tell him you like him but you feel a bit crowded with him calling all the time. Tell him what frequency of contact would make you happy. Or maybe he just deserves someone better than you.

Maybe screen your calls and only talk to him once a day.
Or ask him to change the subject. Or change the subject yourself.
If the guy likes to talk, though, he's always going to. It's impossible to change who people are and how they behave.

I think this guy likes you more than you like him. Unless he has a serious case of me myself and i, talking about his day and sharing them to you is really sweet. He probably wants to share his experience with you.
But if you're sick and tired of his talk, tell him: I really like you but you talk too much. I don't want another girl friend and you're starting to sound like one. Seriously. =)

i really don't know how you guys get along or go our for walks but i would make that person feel me more, my presence than me talking it out loud to him and vice versa

i would tell him the best thing you like about him is that you dont feel like you need to talk all the time when your with him to fill the gaps like you do with other guys and that you hope he feels just as comforable around you too that he doesnt need to talk all the time as well. And isnt it nice just to feel like that with someone and also to know that you can trust that peson when your not with them that you know you dont need to ring them all the time.
