how do i get my mom to stop smoking when my dad doesnt know?

I don't smoke but from experience with others I know you can't make a person stop smoking. If they really don't want to stop, they just won't. But maybe you can make her WANT to stop smoking by telling her you have astma :P

And never ever threaten your mom by saying you're gonna tell that she smokes to your dead. It's meaner than her smoking secret, and I really dislike such behavior. You just don't blackmail your mom, no!

First try to motivate from health & wealth view point if in vain, then show ur hatred for such person who smoke and also exhibit anxiety whenever she is going to smoke and even frighten her about ur un-loving feeling produced for her.Please remember that one should not be rude to ones parents. Remain politely. u may also offer some alternate thing like chewgum etc.to keep her mouth busy, share her worries by gossips and making trial to solve her problem.

Your dad knows, he's just ignoring it. You cannot be a smoker, even a mild one, and not stink to high heaven after you are done. My parents tried to hide the fact that they were smoking from me and after the first week I had them pegged and confronted them about it. After that they started doing it in the open and are still smoking 15 years later. I suggest telling your dad that it bothers you and let him confront your mother about it.
