This website houses and makes available all online documentation (SAP Library) for SAP solutions.
It also has additional information about documentation, education services, and information design at SAP.

The SAP Library is a comprehensive collection of information about the relevant SAP products.
Its contents can be accessed either from the SAP System via the help menu items SAP Library or Application Help or directly from the CD-ROM on which it is delivered.

They are not the same thing. SAP is an ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning), and it's purpose is to manage and plan end to end processes in your business.

Cognos is a reporting tool which works on an 'OLAP cube' of multidimensional summarized data to produce reports.

There is a piece of SAP - BIW or business intelligence warehouse, which along with SAP Netweaver can produce these type of reports.

So put simply, Cognos is something you might want to add to SAP as an additonal reporting tool, but SAP would be the original source of enterprise data.

Hi, SAP offers numerous advantages over it's rival ERPs. Some of them are listed below:
1. Flexibility.

2. Customized solutions to suit your business.

3. Highly integrated with other modules.

4. Industry specific modules with a deep insight.

5. Continuous support.

The major advantages of sap erp, is the high integration with other software modules which is not there in other erp softwares.

In other software, you need to have different software's for different module.

e.g. BAAN, Oracle Manufacturing etc.
