I don't think it will hurt him, maybe just do a small area on his butt or something. I would reccommend making a template and then painting over it with a brush, preferably after you have made him extremely tired from playing and he's passed out somewhere.
If he's not scared, go for it.
A friend of mine wanted to shave my cat - and I said ok, only if she's not scared. He took the electric razor to her head, and she actually pushed up against it - it must have felt cool! So, for a few weeks, my Angel walked around with a really nifty triangle wedge on her head, and 'gills' shaved on the sides of her!

Hi there. I've had cat's all of my life, many of them lived into their 20's. I know that a cat has real feelings. They can be very embarrassed when their apearance in changed. It's tramatizing. Your friends cat is probably very proud of the white coat. It can be very rare. Plus, no one knows how a cat can respond to food dye. Please DON'T.

Grow up. How would you like to wake up one day with your whole body turned blue or green and not know how it happened. Think how you would traumatise the cat. Go back to kindergarden and play with the colouring books.

food dye won't hurt him. it will only hurt when you're trying to hold him down. only do it if the cat is chill and will let you.
