Actually, we are trying to help the individual involved become a better communicator. It is virtually impossible to concentrate on content when the content cannot be deciphered due to the horrendous spelling and grammar.
I will concede this: the site is not an English lesson. However, if you cannot use proper English, you will not receive good, intelligent answers.
It does not make me seem ignorant to assist someone in becoming a better communicator. However, it does show YOUR ignorance/stupidity for berating us for attempting to assist. It also displays your ignorance/stupidity for not recognizing a real problem that is becoming endemic to our society, that being the ineffective use of the written word.
I will continue in my quest to help people use the English language more effectively. Therefore, your opinion does not carry any weight in this case. It is lighter than helium and now leaving Earth's orbit.

Chill. The spelling on here is not just a misspelled word or two. It's sometimes questions that lack subject or verb, and everything misspelled and chopped in half. It's irritating as hell. This thing even has a spell checker. If it was a word or two, nobody would care, except a few grammar nazis. If it's an entire post in ALL CAPS, with nothing spelled correctly and the words all mixed up in the wrong order, it's ABSURD.
Still, while I've desperately wanted to go on about some people's spelling, I generally don't. But I can see, easily, how the temptation to say something overcomes people. I don't see these people as ignorant at all. In fact, I see the people who can't spell anything even with a spell checker included, and who won't bother to type out whole words as ignorant. Sorry, but spelling is like appearance - it makes an impression.

Because bad spelling drives me absolutely nuts!! And, there is a check spelling tool right above this box. It is not very hard to hit it and correct your errors. Plus sometimes it's very hard to understand a question when it's spelled wrong.
