If you are asking which you should follow, the beliefs of your family or that of society,I would say family, providing they have a good stand of morales and values.
In my opinion the world is in the shape it is today because people chose to pull away from family ties and accept the ways of others.

I don't understand the question, could you rephrase it?
It sounds like "If you can only chose one member of your family to save, and the others were going to die, who would you choose?" But I'm not certain for sure what you mean.
