If God really loves us why is there so much suffering in the world?

God has the ability to end all suffering but chooses not to. He says we need to learn from our mistakes so we can be better prepared in the future, even if that means we suffer a loss of someone we love dearly as a result of their suffering.
My Mum (who believed in God) died of MS, she suffered for the last 10 years of her life as all the family did seeing her health deteriorate so fast. She suffered, we suffered, what the hell are we to learn from that eh?? Apart from there is no God, and if there was, he certainly didn't love my Mum for loving Him!

Why God Allows Pain
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard
trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good
conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber

don't believe that God exists." "Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that
God doesn't
exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick
people?

am a barber. And I just worked on you!" No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if
they did,
there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed
beards, like
that man outside." "Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is that people do not
come to
me." "Exactly! "- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God
DOES exist!
What happens is that people don't go to Him and do not look for
Him.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

That is a classical theodicean problem. If we presume omnipotent and good god, why is there evil in the world? Basically all answer patterns end in free will as an explanation; if this world was forced to good, then there would be no free will. Its all a test in this world, God is trying to see how we can handle this problem by oursleves, and if we go in the wrong path there will be sufferings but if we go in the right path then everying will be great. You have keep faith and believe one day things will go perfectly for u.

What makes it easier 4 me.....is i believe that we all come from heaven, not that we are being tested to see if we get in heaven. and that because heaven and God and all that is godly is perfect, we choose to experience different things. That we make blueprints of different lives, experiences, good and bad. We map it all out, in detail.... It makes it easier on my mind, to have some control in my life....It hurts less,to turn all the pain into knowledge....and when I think I can't take it anymore, I know that if I really couldn't then I wouldn't have chose this for myself.... it gives me strength.

There is no satisfying answer to your question. What you're asking for is a theodicy. A theodicy is "a vindication of God's goodness and justice in the face of the existence of evil." I have never seen a theodicy that works. (Including the popular "free will" one that is mentioned in at least four answers above mine.)
