Gotta love these anti-pit people. Especially the ones who claim to be dog-people. lol. They know nothing. It's hard to stop BSL when the dog owners are the minority and the ignorant are the majority.

You are right. I have a wonderful pit that absolutely loves kids and even cats. I hate it when the media makes it sound like every pit out there is mean, vicious, and wants to bite your arm off. This is totally BS. The pits that do attack are a product of the way they are raised and socialized. I completely blame the owners, who are not responsible enough to take care of the dog. I absolutely abhor dog fighting, and I think that this is the dog that attacks. Unfortunately they are brought into a cruel world. For them it is kill or be killed. These people who run,bet or go to the dog fights have no souls. They disgust me. How can they be so cruel!
All dogs have a capacity to bite if in the right circumstances. I just think that banning a breed, any breed is a failure of humanity and should not be done. There are no bad dogs, only bad owners!!!!

Thanks for putting this out there! I saved a pit bull pup a little over a month ago. This kid in my neighborhood was giving away the pups and even went so far as to say that the pups were six weeks old (more like three weeks, maybe). The two hoodrats that got all of the puppies only got them to fight them, but they ended up not wanting the runt of the bunch. They put him out and a little boy took him hoping his mom would let him keep him, but she didn't, so I adopted him.
I know he's not pedigreed, but both parents were pits and I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to save this dog from a life of misery and cruelty. I named my little guy Chance because I'm giving him a second chance to be a well-trained, well-mannered, well-cared for, member of my family.
The dog has a wonderful disposition so far, I just wish I could have saved the others.

A pit is only as good as his owner, its sad but probably 80% of pit owners ruin it for the rest, the right family (One full of love and tolerance) Pits need tolerance, they are high strung, They need a gentle hand, and a firm voice They are wonderful family pets!!!

...train them responsibly..Beagles, cocker spaniels, or any other dog can be as mean as the 'pit bull rep' is if not trained properly. It's just that some people buy pit bulls irresponsibly not considering their strength. They aren't necessarily bad dogs, some just have irresponsible owners.

if only people would listen......i have sent tonsof emails and letters to the mayor and representatives of my state about pit bulls and am still doing it.thats something people can definitely do. if you keep hassling them, at some point, they must listen. and ive gotten a couple emails saying thank you for bringing this to my attention.....so it works, u just gotta do it. it takes time, but i would rather have my hands hurt from writing or typing rather than not having this wonderful breed heard out at all since they cant speak for themselves. they can only look at us and hope we do right by them

"The good side will shine over the bad"?
How is ANY good side to a pitbull going to shine over all the people who get mauled by pitbulls every year.
And you mention common sense....where is the common sense in owning and/or breeding a dog that was bred specifically to be agressive and fight?
If it were up to me, I would outlaw all pitbulls, and if it saved one life or saved one child from having his/her face ripped off, it would be worth it.
