These two dogs get along very well, and during quiet times, my basset hound the oldest likes to lick different areas on my yorkie's body? Is this a sign of affection, or are there sores on the yorkie that I'm not aware of? Any ideas?

it can be a sign of affection or submission and other things like that. THey maybe clean eachothers teeth and ears. Its a grooming thing generally but its also a form of them establishing pecking order and affection. Much like mom cleans the babies. Maybe your Basset thinks your Yorkie is a baby.

Just like cats it's a sign of caring and i care about u and things like that. Animals like to take care of each other it's just a sign of caring for one another most likely.
