One night stand is okay if both the man and girl are sure about what they are doing and be still okay with it. There can be times when you will have a man or woman only for one night, and that person worths doing it (Not only for sex's sake!).
About the second part of your question. Usually the girls don't want to accept a one night stand, they think you should have sex only with the person you're going to live with. It's not about the entire society dear, it's about the women who has advocated this idea.

well i think all the answers will go back again to the person realated to it. Are they comfortable doing it, are they open minded or stick to the tradional,,,and so on and so on.
Talking about why women seen as sluts if they do it, i think it would go to where these women lives. If they lives in big metro high tech cities, highly populated, and everyone's busy with their own problems i dont think it would be a big fuss. Different with average city with a laid back atmosphere, where all the people knows eachothers and the parents knows eachothers parents,savvy?
As personal opinion i would rather not to do that.

Here is the reason women get the reputation of being sluts. OTHER WOMEN! It is a fact that the female brain actually receives stimulus to the pleasure center when they get to slam somebody. If you notice men are proud of one nighters we brag about them. But women act like it is so bad, so who do they tell their bad things to? Other Women, and we all know that women love to pass on "secrets"

a theory of mine is because there is the huge consiquences for women if they have one...but for men they can leave and not be around for them...and at worst they get crabs or some other VD...which now adays can be treated so he can still sleep around and no girls notice. Where as women can get terrible STD's that affect her child bearing abilities later on in life, and she could get pregnent. So society knows this, and when the guy is sleeping around its w/e...but for a girl to take all those consiquences so lightly and risk so much, its seen as a terrible and immature thing to do. personally tho i think in both cases it is just as wrong. Sex should be between a married couple.

One night stands are never okay - for men or women. They are the cause of disease spreading. Unfortunately, there has always been, and probably always will be, a division in the way men & women are perceived for having one night stands. Victorian values seem to be expected of women but men are seen as studs & applauded for theirs.
How society can expect men to be experienced & studs but expect women to remain virgins is beyond me.

What is the problem, We are in the year 2006 there is no problem with the amount of people anyone has slept with, Personally i have no problem with it, and would rather have sex with someone who has experience and not shy about it then someone that is not as experienced and shy and it just all becomes awkward.
Just remember that it is one night only dont go getting clingy after, that applies to both sexes.

They are ok as long as you know what you're doing, you're being safe, and you're not hurting yourself or anyone else. Anyway, I believe that both women AND men stand to develop a bad reputation if they engage in too many sexual encounters.

its depends but i dnt see anything wrong with it if d atomphere was right i mean we human not sticks,my university boyfriend we dated each other all my days in the university and we met thru one night stand,first i was sacrd but after one more meeting i knew i culd love and keep him for a long time,i did love him,so one night stand can turn out to be good or bad.but if it does turn out good both shuld move on wit thier lives
