Yes, but your breath might be shallow. Fainting is generally caused by a sudden and dramatic drop in blood pressure.

What the smHell? Of course, unless you fainted because you choke on a prezel like Pres. Bush. Breathing doesn't require you to be conscious. Fainting is not like sleeping. You do loose consciousness when you faint. However, there are too many reason why you might faint, so I can't really answer if you can wake someone who just fainted. You can help or assist someone who fainted to recover consciousness, but that'll depend on the reason why they fainted. Most of the time you just need to give them some air or oxygen, or calm their body down. Some just need some sugar. Some need to cool down their body and drink some water, like someone fainting from a heat stroke.

I've only been unconscious a couple of times. One time I passed out from a fever. I woke up on the floor with my mom and dad trying to revive me. I was probably out about 30 seconds or less. I was 15 years old and had strep throat.
When I was much older--49--I fell off a bicycle and struck my head. I was unconscious about a minute after that.
Both times I was breathing reasonably normally--or I wouldn't be here to tell the tale. No breathe, no survive. It's as simple as that.
Waking up isn't as simple as when you are asleep. You usually pretty much revive on your own time. If you have a concussion it can be dangerous to wake you up. The best thing is to stabilize the victim. Make sure he or she can breathe and don't move the victim unless he or she is in a dangerous place. Don't push waking them up, but make sure they are reasonably well-oriented when they do revive.
When I had the fall off the bicycle I was asked what day it was, what is my name, where was I, and things like that, to make sure I hadn't sustained a serious brain injury.
With a head injury there is always the danger of a skull fracture, which can be extremely dangerous.

Yeah. I've done it three times. Once was right after I donated blood for the first time at my high school. I fainted head first down some stairs in the front of the Auditorium. Thank goodness Tony caught me or I would have cracked my head open! But yeah, you can definitely still breathe.

Yes you can still breathe or you wouldn't be alive. Sometimes smelling salts can wake the person up-generally someone who faints isn't out for a very long time though.

Yes you do! If you didn't people would have thought you died. Well people can wake you up but its very hard. Most of the times if you are not sent to the doctor then you wake up urself. you breathe but you breathe slower.

Yes. If you're not breathing then you are either in a coma where you need breathing assistance or you are dead! Fainting is neither of these.

It's a good thing breathing is an autonomic function or there would be a whole bunch of dead people.
