It depends upon the quality of the production. I remember reading about a year or so ago, of maritime archaeologists excavating a phoenician shipwreck in the Black Sea from the 5th century BCE which still contained sealed amphorae on board, amongst the other treasures. Upon analysis, the proved to be filled with a mixture of products such as grains, etc, trade goods of the time generally, most of which had perished from long exposure to water or just the passage of time. There were several though, filled with ancient wine. They tested, and then tasted it, which was not only still drinkable 2500 years after it's production, but was incredibly fantastic wine!
(BTW it is oxidisation that causes wines to go off, and hermetically sealed under the pressure of deep water prevented this).

I though wine always got better with age.....guess it doesn't matter though cause I hate the taste of wine anyways.

reds outlive whites...i would keep a white bordeaux about 12 to 15 years the taste will peak then...reds ...especially the bordeaux....well it would be a sin to drink them any younger than 20 years old ...they will last for hundreds.. so will italian reds...the blue chip california cabs will give you 10 to 15 .before you sacrifice some taste

depends on the wine.. cheap sh&% goes bad quicker while some of the pricier stuff just gets better.

i am pretty sure all wine will eventually turn into vinegar
