Go lay down and keep your eyes closed, think of a very relaxing place for a few minutes and then start to monitor your breathing, keep track of "in through my nose" and "out through my nose". Concentrate on the air as it moves into your nose and as you exhale, this will help you relax and drift off more easily because it distracts your thoughts from everything else. You have to concentrate on it though and don't let your mind wander or listen for outside noises. If this doesn't work email me through here tomorrow and will give you another to try. Usually just relaxing really good will help you sleep though. Try it and have a good night.

I used to work in graveyard shifts (8pm to 8am). I do not take sleeping pills to help me sleep because these pills make you sleep physically while your mind is still aware when someone walk by your bed. Some more sleeping pills is additive.
In order to help me sleep, I did the following:
- use lavender aromatherphy : Be careful because some friends of mine have headache when they smell lavender.
- take melantonin : Melatonin is non-additive and can be bought off the shelf. You can take up to 6mg. Try to get 1mg per capsules because you can try increase the dosage starting from 1mg. 1mg works for me while my colleague needs 3mg. There are books solely on mleantonin, one book mentioned that this supplement is able to prolong youth....
- Sleep starter by 21st Century : Melantonin is keep you asleep but if you just have problem falling asleep, this may be better.
Everything can be bought off the shelf.
Hope it helps.

Try reading! It might sound dumb, but if I grab a boring book and just read lying down it makes me sooo tired. Try to keep your mind on the book instead of the things you're stressing over. It also used to help me when I wrote down all the things that I was stressed out about in a journal. I could write page after page coming up with conclusions for things and usually feel better. Its also nice to look back and laugh at what you were flipping out over.

You could try using more energy(a lot more or just little depending on how your days usually go) during the day. That way when it comes time to sleep at night you'll be out of energy and tired.
