I thought that it was "introducing" people to the message of jesus. Taking the word of god to those who have not heard the "good news". If this is the case, why do xtians keep trying to convert the atheists, agnostics, and other "non-believers" here in America where we have most assuredly already heard it?

I can find nothing that says to keep beating people with the bible after they have said "no thank you".

They're on a mission and they will not stop until diversity is destroyed.

Nice insight, by the way :)

Most Christians who, uh, go all uber-evangelist tend to believe that they're saving someone from a fate worse than death. So they try and try and try on the idea that they're really good people, just trying to keep you from doing something they "know" is gonna kill you. And heck... a lot of them are just plain rude or hateful and discriminatory to anyone who won't believe what they do. Some really think they're trying to 'save' you, some just want to be right and dominate the world. You get all types.

They are still hoping to score ego points by converting you. And they do it with the best of motives: they want to save your everlasting soul. Until they can demonstrate the truth of their protestations in some more concrete way than referring to a book full of errors, their success will be measured.

the word means to try to convince other people of your views.

There is nothing wrong with trying to convince others of your views. If you don't like it, you don't have to listen. Nobody is holding a gun to your head.

And nobody is beating you over the head with a Bible.

I think what you really want is for us to not have any rights or freedoms to speak at all, but that isn't what America is about, and it certainly isn't what America was founded on. .

sorry. . that's just the way it is.

You have the right to your beliefs (and to speak about them), and we have the right to speak of ours.

It's called freedom of speech.
