There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......
(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

Love is a learning experience, with each "love" you have over the course of your life you learn something new to help the next "love" go further. Eventually you find true love and it is either the greatest feeling for someone you have ever and will ever know, thus making it a double edged sword. It can lift you to your highest or crush you from the fall. Companionship and faith in one another.

Tough question.
Love is a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
Its a strong attraction to another person.
I cant give a great explanation but I can give what I know.
A Friend's Love says:
" If you ever need anything,
I'll be there."
True Love says:
" You'll never need anything;
I'll be there."
sorry cant remember who said that.

It's different for everyone, but for me it's some one I can be myself with ALWAYS. Someone I would struggle with and someone I'd help through life. If I can't see myself doing that then I know it isn't love.
