do we all just get tied up in our work and pursuit of money? what do you do that helps your community or people in general that you don't get paid for? I want to do more for people and am looking for ideas.

I give $ to charities, it doesn't have to be a lot. Even doing something on here is fine...go to the family or mental health section and give some advice. There are a lot of kids and adults on here that don't appear to have anyone to talk to, and even a person giving some kind words online can mean the world to them. I also send letters, care packages, etc. through a website called books for soldiers. Soldiers request things they need (books, mags, letters, snacks, etc.) and that makes me feel great to help them. I don't support the war and many of them don't either. Imagine fighting in a war you don't believe in? They need all the help and support they can get.

Pay it Forward. You shall reap what you sow. It's just plain "Humanity" I volunteer to walk dogs for the Hawaii Humane Society. We have around 500 vouluteers of all ages. Prior to that I volunteered for 2 different agencies that help people with Mental Health Disabilities. Whatever they needed. I took an attorney to church after his Bipolar attack, I also found his stolen car, & missing wife. Prior to that, charity work for the Hawaii Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. There are 100's of non-profit organizations out there that need people. Good Luck! & God Bless You!

Not necessary to be in cash or kinds.
Try and find out what the others are lack off?
Give them the fishing lines, hooks and sinkers.
So they can fish for the fish for their daily bread.
If they are lack of knowledge spare a bit of time and talk to them and find out what they are lacking.
Observe why Aids for Africa is a failures.
Give them cash or kind after they run out they be back in square one.
Can you go on and on and leave them lost and stranded on planet?
Each day passing by they keep on dropping dead and we are not solving the problems on planet earth.
