I know of the 5 skandhas or bundles that are believed to blend together to produce a whole person. They are:
Forum - your outward appearance
Feelings - your emotions
Perceptions - how we understand what we feel
Impulses - forces that send us towards out goals in life
Background Consciousness - where we come from and essentially where we'll end up.
I'm not sure if that's what you were referring to, but I'd thought I'd throw that in there in case you were.

Hmm. Im not sure. I know that 'all is temporary' has helped me adjust my expectations about life to a degree that helps me to overcome suffering. 'Life is suffering' might be one.
